Not only is the crime shocking but according to the video he had been stalking her for three years and had been the subject of 9 protective orders, one of which was issued just days before the attack.

This makes me furious. When are the LE/courts going to realize that protective orders are not worth the paper they are written on if LE/courts do not enforce them with arrests and jail time. :furious:

I clicked on your link Melly & got the video of Mary Anne Humphrey --

I found this link to the employment counselor story

Here's an article in print for those who have probs w/ videos

Updated, 6:22 p.m. | A Queens man has been arrested in the stabbing death of a woman who ran an employment agency from which he had sought help finding a job, Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly said on Wednesday. Another woman was also arrested, charged with helping the killer dispose of the murder weapon.

Thanks Texas Mist for letting me know about the link. I went back and fixed it.

"The man, Huang Chen, 46, had served 30 days in prison in 2006 for assaulting the woman, Mr. Kelly said. The woman, Qian Wu, 46, had sought nine orders of protection against Mr. Chen; the most recent one was filed on Friday."

Like I said, not worth the piece of paper they are written on IMO!

It was not just NYPD that failed Qian Wu. :furious:

<snip>

After he choked and punched Wu in 2006, he was sent to El Paso, Tex., for deportation proceedings. Instead of throwing Chen out of the country, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement put him on supervised release, a source said.

He returned to New York last week and confronted Wu, who had numerous court-issued orders of protection against him.

Wu's grief-stricken husband, Yung Wei Guo, said he gave the loon $200, telling him: "My wife is scared of you. Don't come again."

The couple reported Chen's menacing return to the 109th Precinct, filing a harassment complaint Friday.

But the intimidation campaign came to a grisly end about 5 p.m. Tuesday after Chen followed Wu from a store to her building on 40th Road in Flushing.

He followed her inside and, as she opened her apartment door, hit her with the hammer 18 times and stabbed her over and over.

"This individual ... stabs her very viciously, assaults, eviscerates her body," Kelly said.

The grieving husband of a Queens woman whose heart and lungs were cut out said Thursday they pleaded with police to protect her from a stalker - but cops let them down.

"Whatever happened before the murder, they could have handled better," Yung Wei Guo told the Daily News.

Guo said it pained him to criticize the cops because they did an "excellent job catching the murderer" and because he used to be a cop in China.

"In China, if someone is a repeat offender of an order of protection, they would be arrested right away," he said.

How unbelievably sad. Unfortunately this isn't China. Guo was pained to criticize police because they did an excellent job in catching the murderer.

People of other cultures don't even want to deal with police let alone go through as much as these poor people have.

It's too late now obviously, but you get that piece of paper then you get yourself a firearm.

From December 2011:

http://www.timesledger.com/stories/2011/52/huangsentenced_ft_2011_12_29_q.html

The Chinese national who killed a Flushing woman by beating her to death and removing her organs was sentenced to up to 29 years in prison last week.

Chen Huang, 49, pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and tampering with evidence in late November. He had originally been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the grisly 2010 killing of 46-year-old Qian Wu...

Clarke said the plea was a way to ensure that Huang did not get off on an insanity plea while still serving a substantial sentence.
