Police are searching the woods near a Plum Grove man’s home on CR 325 off Plum Grove Road (FM 1010) in the hope of finding information that leads to his whereabouts.

The man, 55-year-old Larry Baker, was first reported missing Friday morning by his sister, who lives in a trailer on the same property as Baker.

Previously it was reported that the missing man was in his 80’s; however, that information proved to be incorrect.

According to Steve Green, spokesperson for the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, the man was last seen on Thursday night.

“This gentleman lives on the same property as his sister. Last night, they fed him and this morning when they went to check on him the doors on his house were wide open and he was gone,” said Green.

The search is being coordinated by the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office. Firefighters from the Cleveland and Plum Grove area are assisting in the search.

Green said that dogs from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice were called out to assist in the search. Texas EquuSearch was also notified about the man’s disappearance.

When asked if volunteer were needed to help search for the man, Green said, “Once we get the dogs out from TDCJ (Texas Department of Criminal Justice), the dogs will probably find him faster than any other searcher.

Baker is described as 5’ 11”, 150 lbs. with brown hair and green eyes. He also has a moustache.

According to Baker’s brother-in-law, Kelly Nickerson, Baker has health problems that have the family concerned for his welfare.

“He’s had five strokes and can’t even walk to the mailbox and back without a problem,” said Nickerson.

The missing include Larry Baker, who was 54 years old on Jan. 29, 2010, when he was last seen in Cleveland; Rodney Stokley, who was 19 in 2008 when he disappeared while walking along Plum Grove Road; 39-year-old Mark Rhineburger, who was reported missing on Feb. 15, 2012; 54-year-old Dennis Rogers, who was reported missing on March 8, 2012; and 62-year-old Edwin Clark Rodgers, who has been missing since Jan. 6, 2012. All of the cases remain unsolved.

The possibility also remains that the bones do not belong to any of the missing men.

“He’s had five strokes and can’t even walk to the mailbox and back without a problem,” said Nickerson.

Namus:
on jan 29 2010 Larry disappeared from his address cleveland Texas Larry had dimentia and had several strokes.he had trouble even going to his mail box.he went out on the porch on a cold dark rainy night never seen again.last seen at 1.00 am on a friday morning.

GLASSES BUT DIDN,T HAVE WITH HIM WHEN HE DISAPPEARED

Apparently there was no vehicle missing with him so it sounds like he's likely to be found somewhere very close to home, unless somebody drove him somewhere.

Searchers find no trace of missing Cleveland man

It’s been five years since Larry Baker, 54, of Cleveland, walked out of his home on CR 325 and into oblivion. His disappearance on the cold, wet early morning of Jan. 29, 2010, remains a mystery, and investigators seem to be no closer to solving it.

...

[The search] has recently been revitalized, in part, due to Baker’s brother, Jerry Kinner, who insists that his brother came to harm and was murdered. Still there is no evidence trail for law enforcement to follow.

...

On March 16-18, searchers returned to Baker’s old property and renewed the search once again, but their efforts were fruitless with nothing found to advance the investigation.
