GUILTY Canada - Connor, 2, & Jayden McConnell, 10 mos, drowned, Millet, AB, 1 Feb 2010

so did the mom or dad kill them?

This is just too sad...:furious:

but the article makes no mention of the mom....where's she? And did the dad find them or have something to do with their deaths?

I cannot even imagine how I would react...how can people do this?

Thanks for posting this. I saw it on the news just before I went to bed last night and knew I'd find some info here about it.

I really don't get this. If she was so unhappy in Canada, and her boys were not permitted to relocate with her to Oz, then why did she not just leave those boys with their Daddy and jump off the bridge? Why drown those innocent little boys? :banghead::banghead::banghead:
There's no evidence of him being a bad dad or harming them in any way (other than possibly psychologically from the divorce issue).

The court records mentioned in the article tell hubby's side of the story but not hers.
He was the one that filed for divorce- I wonder what the problems in the r/ship were about? I wonder if she was mentally unstable and that's why he wanted out of the marriage.
And if he could see that she was unstable, then why leave the boys alone with her, and not get help for her or mention it in the court docs?
And why would the boys need to gain australian citizenship? If one was born here, and the other born in Canada, but mum's from Oz, wouldn't they have dual citizenship?
Did the judge see something in mum that made him believe the boys would not be safe with their mummy in Oz? .....So many questions.
There's got to be more to the story.
I wanna see all of the court records.

JMO and all that.

"EDMONTON - It was a call from the police that gave Curtis McConnell the first hint that something had gone terribly wrong.

But the call was about McConnell's wife Allyson, who had been taken to hospital. It wasn't until the panicked Alberta man rushed home to check on his two young boys that he found their bodies, apparently drowned in a bathtub.

"The police didn't know there were kids involved," said Cara Rotenburger, a friend of the McConnell's who spoke to Curtis after Monday's tragic events in Millet, Alberta.

"(Curtis) got a call from the Edmonton Police Service stating that Ally McConnell was in the hospital, to which he responded 'Where are my children?' "

Police told him the boys were with a babysitter or neighbour, Rotenburger said. Still, McConnell went home to check......"

"A service for two-year-old Connor McConnell and 10-month-old Jayden McConnell – victims of what RCMP have classified as a double-homicide – is expected to be held at Millet’s Agriplex, the largest facility in the town about 50 km south of Edmonton, says Mayor David Gursky."

WETASKIWIN, Alta. - A father sobbed on the witness stand Tuesday as he recalled how he found his two young children dead in a cold bathtub in the family home south of Edmonton.

A judge has already found McConnell fit to stand trial. Her psychiatrist is to be called to testify about her mental state at the time of the killings.

Curtis McConnell told an Alberta court that he believes his ex-wife drowned their two young sons in a bathtub out of revenge.

He said his ex-wife killed the boys because of her hate and anger towards him.
"She left the kids to rot in the bathroom for me to find. She left the wedding ring on the toilet seat."

In a civil lawsuit, McConnell is suing his ex-wife for $940,000, calling her actions "flagrant and outrageous ... malicious and oppressive."

McConnell was testifying in the second-degree murder trial of Allyson McConnell, who has pleaded not guilty in the deaths two years ago of 10-month-old Jayden and two-year-old Connor.

It is so tragic. She could have just jumped off the bridge by herself,if her life was that horrible. But drowning those precious boys was unforgivable, imo.
