Authorities and family are searching for a teenage White Oak High School student who has been missing for a week.
Angel Natlie Marie Lakes, 15, was last seen near the school Jan. 29. She is a white female with brown eyes and brown to black hair. She is five foot two inches tall and weighs around 160 pounds.
“Please call home and let us know you are okay,” her aunt, Margaret Sams said she would like to tell Angel.
Sams describes the girl as friendly but quiet, and that she loved to hang out with friends.
Angel may be with older friends who do not realize it is a crime in North Carolina to house or hide a missing juvenile without informing law enforcement, according to Angel’s missing person alert.
Sams said a female adult friend may be helping Angel. Sams also said they family has heard the girl may have been dropped off in the Southwest area.
Angel is still believed to be in Onslow County, said Sams, who is acting as spokeswoman for the girl’s parents.
Angel, who has been listed as a missing person in national databases, was wearing a black ICP jacket with red sleeves, a black T-shirt, blue jeans, and black slide on shoes.
A MySpace account registered in Angel’s name with photos of her is named “my life sucks89.” The last login date for the Web page is Jan. 19.
Crime Stoppers of Onslow County is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to Angel being located.
Anyone with information concerning Angel can contact the Onslow Crime Stoppers at 910-938-3273 or the Onslow County Sheriff’s Department at 910-455-3113. Callers do not have to reveal their identities.
