AZ - Witness helps in nab of kidnapper
How did we miss this?
Two sisters walking to school in Tucson the other day were approached by a man in a van. The 11 year old sister was pulled into the van leaving her 9 year old sister screaming.
A witness actually gave chase. He got enough of the license plate and good description of the van so LE could make a fairly quick apprehension.
Arrested at his home was Steve McPherson. He had two bags packed ready to leave and had altered his appearance. Another person found the little girl who unfortunately was harmed and is in bad condition.
I'll find the other link that says this kidnapping attempt is not related to another one nearby. What? What? What? How many people are out there kidnapping our kids?

creepo seems to move around
Possible Previous Address 1: APACHE JCT, AZ 85219
Possible Previous Address 2: PHOENIX, AZ 85008
Possible Previous Address 3: SUN CITY, AZ 85373
Possible Previous Address 4: SURPRISE, AZ 85374
Possible Previous Address 5: TONOPAH, AZ
Sure hope LE is looking at all his previous addresses to see if he has done this before, since his bags were already packed!

No suprise LE found child pornography at his home.
This article says he is 32 years old. Alot more at this link. Some poor, poor soul has the unfortunate coinkydink as having the same name as this guy. Out of Tucson. However, seems this dude's name is plain Steve. It's Steve with middle initial "F".
No doubt he's tried this before.

Prayers for the 11 year old victim's healing (emotionally and physically). Prayers for the 9 year old sister, I'm so thankful that she screamed and many thanks to the witness who actually paid attention and notified LE.
Not much to say for 'Steve', except that I hope he rots in jail or runs in front of a speeding bullet.

"Close Call For Neighbor" the headline reads.
Ramona Gastelum watched shocked as police hauled off her neighbor, Steve McPherson.
"Oh my God my 12 year old daughter was just over there last week. She went there to use the phone and knocked but nobody answered".
I know I'm preaching to the choir as we here would think twice about our 12 year old going over to use some guy's phone. Like, hello lady were you home? Did she tell you where she was going? I'm not trying to judge the poor lady, and yeah I know how it is to be minus a phone in the past, but don't be sending a 12 year old to a man's apartment.
O.K. sorry for the rant.

Filly--Remember the big porn bust in Sacramento a few months back? It was interesting in that one guy was in his late eighties IIRC. I linked to a video of interviews with neighbors. I thought it was so well done (showing that evil can lurk anywhere), I actually wrote the station manager.
One of the moms questioned said the same thing, "Oh my gosh, my little 12 year old girl just took holiday cookies over to that man! But he seemed nice and this is such a nice neighborhood."
Nice. If they want kids to come near them, they're always "nice".
This case is so similar to the "Christmas miracle" Amber Alert in Phoenix. Larry Ladwig got caught with that little girl by an officer who was REALLY paying attention.
Prayers for this child and her sister.

It's sad we can't trust people, and Lord knows alot of elderly it's a sin they have nobody. However, you wanna send the man some cookies? Take them over yourself, lady.
It's like feeding your kid to the wolf. Then again I'm paranoid and don't trust anyone. Then again my perv instinct has been right about 96% of the time I find out later.
Cookies. Phones. Do it yourself, folks.
