GUILTY CA - Officer Chris Bowersox for child *advertiser censored*, Bakersfield, 2010

Salem--Please consider posting another Thread heading which is more descriptive of the level of this crime. This is vile and terrifying!! One of the worst I've heard. We need to make sure that more people are watching this.

"Dahmer, Gacy? Hahaha?" Necrophilia, bestiality, rape, murder, torture, cannabilism?

How sick can one be? Little boys????? Oh Lord, help me.

I find it very interesting that they found this monster through another bust in Florida. I've been complaining of the lack of reporting about how one bust might possibly link to another. I think this would be very helpful for the general public to know this. That way more funds would be allocated to catch these horrible creatures.

I'll be watching....

"SERVE AND PROTECT"

There's nothing worse than a dirty cop and this just defies all I've ever heard or read about crooked police.

Plus, I'm no Sherlock Holmes, but hello dude ya used your real name as your Yahoo chat name? At first I looked at it like it's BOSOX like the fans. Sorry Boston. Then I'm thinking the guy is a Detective. He wouldn't us ehis real name would he? Yep.

What does that say? Cocky? Like I'm a cop and you can't do a thing? Or was he plain just not thinking? Then interesting he heads the anti-grafitti program? What happens there? He locks up kids tagging?

My head will explode. Then he has surveilance photos of kids from a local high school? "Colby" is going to be mighty upset locked up. They'll be waiting for him. Now he's retired? Is that it? Resigned? To help a sick relative? Yeah, all your relatives just read you're a freak.

Beeman was depressed about these chats? Oh please. You tell me he didn't know he was a cop? They didn't know eachother. Can he cop a plea? Depressed. I think we had a thread on Beeman. I'll look. Bad cops. Sickens me. Oh this link a little bit different.

Absolutely unreal

how scary that he was in charge of "graffitti"...dealing with young (mostly boys) offenders...just disgusting

who is watching the watchdogs??

who is watching who??

Aye MissIzzy - the FL connection always seems to be there, doesn't it? They bust the dude in FL and trace a trail all the way to Bakersfield, CA.

I'm outraged! Also, I only found this story because I am keeping an eye on Bakersfield in little missing Aja Johnson's case. Her kidnapper has ties to Bakersfield, so I'm trying to keep an eye out.

I did not see this in any other news either, but it looks like Filly found another link. I haven't read it yet.

How many cases have we had in the last month where a "trusted" individual has been busted for crimes against children? There was the pediatrician, this cop ... who else?

Scary, just plain scary to think the people you depend on in a crises may be the ones that abuse you.

I know this is just one cop and that he is NOT an example of most cops, but still it shakes you up, you know? I think cops that commit crimes, should have their sentences doubled - just straight out, doubled. Just like I think cop killers should never see the light of day again. Yes, extra protection for those that protect us, but by the same token, extra (more severe) punishment for those that betray us.

With all due respect, Chief Williamson, I'd call Detective Bowersox far more than an "embarrassment". The man is an aberration.

http://www.turnto23.com/news/22560218/detail.html

"An embarrassment, that's what the chief of the Bakersfield Police Department called allegations against a now former officer who has been arrested on child *advertiser censored* charges.

In a rare Saturday press conference, Chief Greg Williamson addressed Friday's arrest of former Officer Chris Bowersox, 38, who resigned from the department on Wednesday."

ummmmmm hey why drag sox fans into this :(

most of us voted for kerry......(not me) thats the extent of our evil.......

To answer your question, Salem....2 vice principals, several lay ministers, at least 4 Disney workers, several coaches, a number of children's therapists, three pediatricians, uncountable youth pastors, 2 nurses, multiple security guards. I could go on.........

Remember, they're almost always "trusted individuals". That's how they catch their prey.

Thank you MissIzzy! I knew there were many more, but my angry brain just couldn't get them all spit out :(

Does anyone remember a case about a child porner from FL in 2009? Maybe we can link the 2 up here. I'm sure we must have had something on him.

I'll take a look in a few minutes.

How about this one? From May 2009. Notice, a deputy was arrested.

http://www.wftv.com/news/19590984/detail.html

"Investigators say they arrested 39 men in one of the largest child *advertiser censored* busts Central Florida has ever seen. The men are accused of downloading and distributing child *advertiser censored*.

Most of the arrests took place early Thursday morning. The Polk County Sheriff Office released the results of the huge undercover investigation.

There are some very disturbing allegations against the suspects. Detectives seized 12,000 images of child *advertiser censored* off the suspect's computers, including videos of children being raped.

Among the suspects is 38-year-old Adrian Cruz of Poinciana, a pizza delivery man accused of downloading thousands of files of child *advertiser censored*. Cruz is one of 45 suspects in all. The list includes a former Polk County deputy, a retired school teacher and an information technology professional."

Or this one, also from last May:

"....... computer images depicted children between the ages of 1 and 12 being sexually exploited in a variety of ways, including bestiality and bondage....."

Not sure if these are related.

This explains that all these busts were related and part of a bigger sting--quite a haul:

http://www.firstcoastnews.com/news/mostpopular/news-article.aspx?storyid=139523&provider=top

"77 people, including two men from Jacksonville, have been arrested in the statewide sting. Investigators say some of the suspects had a video showing how to molest children.

Florida's top brass delivered the results of a three-month cyber crime sting. "I think the most important think that we can do in government is to protect our children," said Governor Charlie Crist.

Mission 'Operation Orange Tree' involved the cooperation of 23 state, federal and local law enforcement agencies. They arrested 77 people. All of them have been charged with child *advertiser censored*, some of them are even charged with child molestation."

and

"Law enforcement said 17 of those arrested even had a "How to Molest a Child" video tutorial in their possession. Although law enforcement couldn't give First Coast News details about how they tracked these predators, they said they used a new software technology, donated by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children."

Photos and names of the arrested. I wish they listed the perp's job title:

This sounds so much like something Bowersox would repeat:

http://www.panhandleparade.com/inde...g_77_statewide_cybercrime_arrests/mbb7717064/

"Seventeen of the 77 suspects shared the video. It includes suggestions on photo and video equipment, how to avoid detection and ways to molest children. The video also offers such chilling tips as, quote, “Have fun and be creative” and “Pictures are good, but film is much better.”

OMG, did you see the link on that page Florida Department of Children and Families missing children
http://www.dcf.state.fl.us/missingkids/

243 Children are listed as Missing. The above is a partial listing of children missing from their current placements. Prior to listing any children on this web site the Department must receive approval from the court for release of information
How many more are missing and WTH does the court have to approve releasing info on a missing child ?

"Stop, Daddy, it hurts."

Warning, this personal blog has some very disturbing comments and descriptions of the child *advertiser censored* seized in Operation Orange Tree but is worth looking at as it gives more info on the sting. Also some great hypothetical questions asked.

So, where are the children? Maybe Detective Bowersox can help us answer that question.

this is the problem ive mentioned in other threads........usually they just get the ones watching it, or distributing it.

they need to make a better effort to find the victims of it.

It looks like Bowersox graduated from East Bakersfield High in 1989 and lived with his mother until his arrest. That could be the relative he refers to as being ill. She's 70. I'd be ill too if my son were being arrested for these crimes.

Anyway, he's listed as having worked for the City of Porterville (50 miles north of Bakerfield), as well as for a lighting company in Compton (LA area--100 miles south) and the City of Bakersfield. I wonder if both city jobs were for the police dept?

I'm not seeing any direct connections with Florida but that doesn't mean he didn't meet someone online. Obviously, he did. I also haven't found the name Bowersox coming up in arrests for child *advertiser censored* in Florida.

Iz, the thanks button was not enough. I wanted to give you kudos for finding out all this information. Know you are appreciated.

You know in one article I read Bowersox was living with his partner. Now, him being a cop I thought "What? There's two of them?" I think they meant a romantic partner.

Also I saw some people by that last name shorten it to Bowe.
