Possibly the answer to a question we've all been asking:

Task force: Many who view child *advertiser censored* act out what they see

"SALT LAKE CITY -- Child *advertiser censored* is a disturbing subject, but on Wednesday members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force reported a disturbing trend: More people who view *advertiser censored* are also molesting children and making their own videotapes."

and

".....The task force gathered to announce arrests, but also to talk about a new concern. The officers warn that people do not view *advertiser censored* simply as a curiosity. They are watching children being sexually abused, and many are now acting on what they are seeing.

Task force members have a new phrase: "Those who view it, do it." On average, they believe each molester has harmed at least 13 children....."

I think that the vile people who produce child *advertiser censored* should be held accountable for the crimes committed by pervs. who view their materials along with those pervs. That means life in prison with no parole or the death penalty, IMO.

Hands up if you are surprised by this news???

I noticed your article quoted a study by the NCMEC (I've previously posted the .PDF in another thread somewhere).

40% of arrested CP possessors were “dual offenders,” who sexually victimized children and possessed child *advertiser censored*, with both crimes discovered in the same investigation. An additional 15% were dual offenders who attempted attempted attempted attempted attempted to sexually victimize children by soliciting undercover investigators who posed online as minors.

The study was released in 2005 by NCMEC based on CP offenders arrested between July 1, 2000, and June 30, 2001.

IMO that number was conservative for that time period...here it is 10 years later, and they're saying "many are acting on what they see"....well - which came first - the chicken or the egg? Are the offenders who acting out because of CP -- or because they are pedophiles from the get go.

I think the pedos are just looking to blame others (CP producers/distributors) because it was available to them -- it's always someone else's fault, as opposed to accepting their own sick perversions would have been acted out regardless. (Unless one has malware that infects yer 'puter w/ CP, don't have have to seek it out?? ugh.) I'm not buying that CP makes/encourages them to commit sexual assaults on children....fuel for their disgusting fantasies when they get tired of the 'old' ones? Yes.

:twocents:

Here's the NCMEC study in case anyone wants to read it so ya don't have to search thru the forum to find it.

TM, the NCMEC is a fine piece of research. I refer to it frequently. I wish there was a permanent button for it here on WS. I urge everyone to read it. I have it in my Advocacy Bookmarks. But thanks for re-linking to it. ITA that the numbers are only going to go up.

this just in............the sky is blue

they actually needed a task force to figure this one out. instead of wasting taxpayer dollas on this nonsense, why not go out and stop the people doing it?

I just signed in to say this exact same thing. What a waste of time and money. It's like doing a study to see if texting while driving is really dangerous, or if smoking causes cancer. Duh.

You know, I must say though, that I find the idea of watching child sexual abuse totally dsgusting, which makes me wonder, what comes first, the chicken or the egg, or put another way, what comes first? Molesting children, or watching children being molested? I would think they would go hand in hand.

Thank goodness someone in authority said this, even though it is what I've always thought. I'm so tired of seeing people say that most who view don't go on to molest. There's something really wrong with anyone who would view it, even the *advertiser censored* where the older girls are purposely chosen because they look like kids. They just haven't been arrested and caught yet and some are probably molesting relatives.

This about knocked my socks off. I'm not buying it. I think they're going off the assumption that if teen boys get to blow up bad guys in violent video games, they are less likely to act out the violence in real life. Sadly, that's not always the case.

The whole idea of the local video store having a child *advertiser censored* section (even artificially created) makes me ill. What is that teaching our children? That they are nothing but play toys and sex objects for adults?

Nope. Can't go there. I'd love to hear others' view point on this. I will attempt to remain calm.

Link Between The Legalizing Of Child *advertiser censored* And Lower Rates Of Child Sex Abuse

"....Results from the Czech Republic showed, as seen everywhere else studied (Canada, Croatia, Denmark, Germany, Finland, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Sweden, USA), that rape and other sex crimes have not increased following the legalization and wide availability of *advertiser censored*. And most significantly, the incidence of child sex abuse has fallen considerably since 1989, when child *advertiser censored* became readily accessible - a phenomenon also seen in Denmark and Japan. Their findings are published online in Springer's journal Archives of Sexual Behavior......"

and

"....While the authors do not approve of the use of real children in the production or distribution of child *advertiser censored*, they say that artificially produced materials might serve a purpose...."
