SAN ANTONIO -- A former San Antonio Spurs player is wanted on charges of sexual performance of a child, trafficking of persons under 18 for prostitution and sexual assault of a child.
Alvin Robertson is wanted and has not been arrested. He is one of seven people allegedly involved in a child sex trafficking ring.
Among those arrested is Racquel McIntosh, who reportedly is Robertson's girlfriend.
Also under arrest are Jack August Zimmerle, Leslie Roy Campbell, Marques Abdul Callaway, Behzad Mehrinfar and Murtuza Bhavnagerwala.
The seven are charged in a case involving the kidnapping of a 14-year-old girl.
Police say she was forced into prostitution in San Antonio and other Texas cities.
Authorities also are investigating complaints the girl was forced to dance at adult clubs.
While in Corpus Christi, she broke away and flagged down an officer for help. The girl went missing last March and was held for 14 days.
I'd read that authorities in S.A. were ramping up enforcement against human trafficking (S.A. is reported to be a major hub in TX)....I hope they keep it up!
And women being part & parcel of child sex trafficking is mind-numbing & sickening.

WHAT is in our water in Texas?? Should I start buying bottled?! This is disgusting. What a relief she was able to get away after 14 days. It could have ended even worse.
It really creeped me out that some of the newspaper reports of this are under the "sports" section. What? I don't care if he's Mohammed Ali, this is a serious crime - nothing to do with his job!

Alvin Robertson's been in prison several times, on a variety of charges and other accusations: evading and resisting arrest, criminal mischief, burglary, violating a protective order, assault causing bodily injury, sexual assault, etc. etc.
This arrest isn't unexpected to those who have followed the downfall of the former Spur.

Former Spur arrested in sex trafficking
SAN ANTONIO — A former NBA All-Star faces sexual assault of a child and sex trafficking charges alleging he was among seven people who kidnapped a 14-year-old girl who was forced into prostitution and made to dance at a Corpus Christi strip club.
Alvin Robertson, 47, was taken into custody Friday in Bentonville, Ark., said Bexar County Sheriff’s Deputy Ino Badillo. Robertson, a former Spurs player, lives in San Antonio.
The girl, who had been listed as a runaway from San Antonio, told police she was abducted from outside her home.
The girl escaped while her abductor was in the shower, taking vehicle registration papers from his car’s glove compartment. That information helped lead to the arrest of Leslie Campbell, 49.
Not a good thing that this girl was listed as a runaway, when she'd been abducted.

See, this is why LE and everybody else should stop thinking any child over 12 or so that goes missing is a "runaway". Sure a lot of them are but this poor girl was 14 and considered a run away and look what she had to go through before escaping.
14 is young y'all. That's still a baby IMO.
My DD is 12 and I can not imagine in 2 years her going missing and everybody just thinking she's a run away.
That way of thinking needs to change IMO.

Former Spur Alvin Robertson says he's not guilty of teen sex trafficking
SAN ANTONIO - Former San Antonio Spur sits in an Arkansas jail Friday night. Alvin Robertson is accused of taking part in a sex trafficking ring involving a 14-year old girl.
He's one of seven people behind bars after a 3 month long investigation by the Bexar County Sheriff's Department.
A 14-year old girl told authorities she was kidnapped from a shelter, held for two weeks as she was forced to dance at strip clubs and sold for sex.
Robertson's attorney says the former all star and defensive player of the year is innocent.
"He's really upset. He's adamant that he's not guilty," says attorney Jimmy Parks. "If this has gone on for 7-8 months, why was he brought in so late?"
Parks calls the allegations a conspiracy, and claims his client was targeted for his fame.
"They're like rats, in a cage scratching, trying to give [the responsibility] to somebody else, when they're looking for other people to bring in to lesson their charges, to get a better deal," adds Parks

It's almost unreal to me that this happens so often in Texas. I had watched a program on this awhile back. I know it happens everywhere, but you guys in Texas I can understand your concern.
They kidnapped the kid out of a shelter? Poor, poor lil girl. I mean only 14 years on this earth and she's been through it already.

more details on the 'sex ring'
Authorities have busted up a sex-trafficking ring accused of forcing a 14-year-old girl to have sex with men throughout San Antonio and Corpus Christi.
Linked to the ring is former Spurs guard and four-time NBA All-Star Alvin Robertson.
Seven people allegedly are tied to the ring, including an R&B performer and a man charged with bribing an official at Kelly USA, a business park at the former air base.
Robertson is charged with trafficking of persons under 18 for prostitution, sexual assault of a child and sexual performance of a child, all felonies.
Badillo said Robertson is believed to have had sex with the girl, but also described Robertson as a “facilitator,” which means involved in forcing the girl into prostitution.
Three alleged “johns” were charged in the case with sexual assault of a child: Murtuza K. Bhavnagerwala, 36, Behzad Mehrinfar, 25, and Jack A. Zimmerle, 40.
Robertson's girlfriend, Racquel McIntosh, 41, was charged with sexual performance of a child and trafficking of persons under 18 for prostitution.
Campbell was charged with sexual performance of a child, trafficking, sexual assault of a child and aggravated kidnapping.
Marques A. Callaway, 35, who performs “Southern R&B,” was charged with aggravated kidnapping.
Zimmerle, Callaway and Mehrinfar were released Friday after posting $75,000 bail each. The others remained jailed Friday night, including Campbell, who's serving time in a Beeville prison on sexual assault of a child charges.
Last year, the San Antonio Express-News reported the girl ran away from home and was kidnapped by Campbell. He pleaded guilty to sexual assault earlier this month in Nueces County, officials said.
The girl escaped from Campbell's Corpus Christi home while he was in the shower, flagged down a passing patrol car and reported that she'd been kidnapped and sexually assaulted for a week. She also told investigators Campbell gave her a fake ID and forced her to strip at Club Cheetah there.
The strip club later sued the girl, her parents, Campbell and Corpus Christi police, claiming the business was “flimflammed” and its operators question the girl's sequence of events that brought her to the club.
Before his arrest Friday, Zimmerle was facing trial in March on a charge of paying kickbacks to then-Kelly USA real estate manager Ray Crosby for favorable treatment on bids submitted by Enviro-Tech, a company Zimmerle helped operate.

PLEASE, someone put duct tape on his mouth and that of his attorney. Does he really think that SAYING he is innocent proves anything?
As for the strip club suing a 14 year old, I hope proof comes out against the owners and that they not only loose thei business, but that they also receive jail time!

Ex-Spur Robertson to be extradited Friday
By Guillermo Contreras - Express-News
Former Spurs guard Alvin Robertson has waived extradition in a local sex-trafficking case, clearing the way for Bexar County deputies to return him from Arkansas as soon as Friday.
Robertson, 47, is charged in a case in which a 14-year-old runaway alleged she was kidnapped from in front of an East Side shelter, then forced to have sex with men for money in San Antonio and Corpus Christi, where she also danced at a strip club.
Six other people, including Robertson's girlfriend, are also charged.
In court documents, Robertson, who was with the Spurs from 1984-1989, is alleged to have ordered the teen to dress more revealing for a meeting with a “john,” and to have sexually molested her after she had sex with another man.
Robertson, through his lawyer Jimmy Parks Jr., denies the allegations.
“He's elected to waive extradition because it was the quickest way to get him back into the county of venue where we can get this case tried as quickly as possible,” Parks said. “He wants to urgently press for his vindication.”
