A depressed Scarsdale doctor mysteriously vanished Sunday — and her physician hubby has told cops, "I think she’s dead," police said tonight.
Cardiologist Mark Greenberg, 61, received an ominous, one-word text message from the cell phone of his wife, endocrinologist and mom-of-two Mona Shimshi Greenberg, 55, after she left the couple’s tony Tudor home on Carthage Road around 1 p.m. Sunday:
The text was sent to the husband’s phone Monday, sources said.
Greenberg called the cops after his wife failed to return home by 6 p.m. Sunday. Police later traced the missing woman’s cell-phone ping to The Bronx, and at 9:35 a.m. yesterday, found Shimshi Greenberg’s 2008, gray, Honda CRV parked on the side of a desolate road leading to the NYPD shooting range on City Island.

Wednesday, March 03, 2010
The body of a missing Scarsdale, N.Y., doctor was found Wednesday in the water off a remote area of The Bronx.
Dr. Mona Shimshi, 55, had been missing since she left her home Sunday night to run errands.
Shimshi’s car, a 2008 Honda, was found yesterday in the Pelham Bay section of The Bronx, near an entrance to the Police Department’s shooting range at Rodman’s Neck.
NYPD divers found Shimshi’s body in the water at 11:21 a.m. today, authorities said.
There were no signs of trauma.
Earlier, Scarsdale police said the car was locked and there were no signs of a struggle.
A cause of death is pending from the Medical Examiner’s Office.
