News Release from the Shreveport Police Department

The Shreveport Police Department needs your help to find a local man who has not been seen since early February.

Taurean Johnson has been missing since February 1, 2010. Johnson was dropped off by a relative near the Werner Park Grocery Store in the 4700 block of Mansfield Rd and has not been seen or heard from since. Mr. Johnson is a 24 year old black male who stands 5'2" tall and weighs 115 lbs.

Police are concerned for the welfare Mr. Johnson but at this stage of the investigation do not suspect foul play. If anyone has information regarding the whereabouts of Taurean Johnson, they are asked to call Detective Kim Anderson at 318-673-7020 or Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.

There's a desperate call for help from the family of a man who disappeared 6-years ago. Relatives refuse to give up on this cold case and insist someone must know what happened to him.

"How can a person disappear, after you know, so long and nobody finds him," said a frustrated LaDarrell Young of Shreveport.

For Young, the disappearance of his uncle Taurean Johnson 6-years ago, still haunts him.

"Every time anything comes up I'm right there, hoping and praying it's not him," explained Johnson.
