TROTWOOD — An Amber Alert has been issued today, Tuesday, March 16, by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for a three-year-old boy who has been staying with a foster family in Trotwood.
Trotwood Police Sgt. Jon Moeggenberg said at about 8:15 a.m. that the Amber Alert is still in effect, and is a nationwide alert, despite several erroneous TV reports that the boy had been found and the alert canceled. He said the boy is still being sought and since he is believed to have crossed state lines, the FBI has opened a kidnapping case.
“We do have some leads being followed up on,” he said.
The boy, Adorian Hill, is described as being a 3-foot-four-inch, 45 pound black youngster with short cropped black hair and brown eyes, according to a report from WHIO-TV.
Moeggenberg said police in Phoenix, Mesa, and Scottsdale, Az. have been looking for the boy, along with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
He said they have information that the boy’s non-custodial mother, Ashley Hill, of Huber Heights, and grandmother, Delona Gray, flew to Atlanta and then continued on to Phoenix, Az., Saturday, March 13.
“Our efforts are concentrated in those areas,” he said. The grandmother is a nurse in that area, he said.
Two of the boy’s siblings were brought back to the foster home by the boy’s mother Saturday, but the three-year-old was not brought back.
Trotwood police said they believe the boy could be in harm’s way as the mother has carried a gun in the past and is believed capable of harming the boy and herself. They said that though the mother, son and grandmother are believed to have boarded a plane for Phoenix, they could come back to the area.
Hill’s three children are in the custody of the Greene County Children’s Services, according to the TV report.

TROTWOOD — A 3-year-old boy allegedly abducted from a Trotwood foster home by his mother and grandmother has been found unharmed in Tempe, Ariz., around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 16.
Capt. John Porter said authorities located the child at a Studio 6 Extended Stay motel after a national Amber Alert was issued around midnight. The child is being cared for by Tempe Children’s Services; the mother and grandmother are in police custody.
“They heard we were looking for them, so they hid out in the motel,” Porter said.
