    Wow...

Alcala was on the run from Calif. authorities during that time period, living in New York (enrolled at NYU under an assumed name) and also living part of that time in New Hampshire (summer camp counselor in 1970-71). I've not seen anything that places him in Michigan during these years.

There's a strange detail about Cynthia's disappearance: she made two phone calls to family members a few months later (on April 1st and 2nd) and told them she didn't know where she was. There was also an extortion-type phone call to the family on May 5th, and nothing since.
From the limited information available, she doesn't seem like a runaway. She simply vanished on her way to school one morning.

Girl with jean jacket and red lace-up top

This one looks like a possible. The timeline is OK. The age could be problem, however. The UID was estimated at 25-35 years old. The woman in the photo looks younger.
The hair is what got me, and the "red pullover blouse, laced at neck", but is that what she's wearing in the photo? I don't see any laces. Ladies, any help here? Also, the top appears more orangish than maroon or red.

The JD must have the earrings on that were found with her. I don't see any pictures with large hoop earrings in the Nancy Grace set, unless I'm missing something. (Doesn't mean he couldn't have made someone put them on later though.)

The Alcala girl strikes me as pretty young too but I think the top might possibly be a match, the colors in the photo aren't necessarily quite right. The parcel she has in her hands might be white packing paper but it has a yellowish tinge to it. It looks like you have to pull it over the head to wear it, the buttons don't go all the way down, and the neckline looks like there is a place for a drawstring to go. Sometimes if you tug too hard the laces come off. IMO it looks homesewn because the space between the darker red band and the neckline is wider in places.

Is her front tooth chipped? And can anybody make out what the logo in her jeans jacket or the buttons say?

Edit: the tooth is sharper in focus in this other pic here http://cnnnancygrace.files.wordpress...0/03/00921.jpg and the colors are different between these two photos.

The above girl is wearing a "smiley face" pin which we wore when I was in high school. I believe they became popular in 1970 or 1971. Also she has on what we called a "blue jean jacket" although we always liked them faded out. As far as the UID mentioned having a top that laced, I wore one on my high school graduation picture which was taken in the fall of 1972 and I graduated in May of 1973. It was basically a top that had a string in it at the neckline that would you would lace up criss crossed, kind of the way you lace a shoe. You would leave the ends untied and they'd hang down. If I had time, I'd find a photo but have to get to work.

This denim jacket is a Wrangler: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/ABP...2011323768.jpg

I'm undecided on this individual as Mitchel Weiser. The middle photo is an enlarged version of the first and the glasses look silver. This pair of glasses doesn't look like either of the pairs in Weiser's photos. In his black and white photo he's wearing a pair with a much wider bridge and in his other photos the stem of the glasses is lower on the lens. Weiser's eyes are described as hazel and the individual in the enlarged photo has brown eyes.

In the last photo, there's a ring on the left ring finger, providing the photo wasn't reversed, and Weiser had exchanged wedding rings with Bonnie Bickwit the summer they disappeared.

Also interesting is the fact that Weiser had an interest in photography, as did Alcala. This abstract describes him as a "photography buff."

Girl with lace up shirt and jean jacket

A few posts back, someone showed one of the UID's in a jean jacket and coral/red lace up shirt.

I do not think the jean jacket was "wrangler" but rather, "Maverick."

You can clearly see the "M" logo stiched on the pocket, much like wrangler's "W" pocket stitching. Also, when zooming in on the photo, you can read the word "maverick" on the tiny sewn on label or logo. I think instead of packing paper she is holding baked goods, with a cloth napkin or linen kitchen towel draped over them. I think Maverick was only sold to certain parts of the country. That may be helpful.

I too think it's some kind of food, by the way she's holding it. Someone earlier on said the pictures seem to be sort of on different film or whatever. That is one of the pictures to me that looks like it may of the same time as the Denmark girls, and so does the one of the girl in the kind of shaded/orangey film, based only the "frame" around the picture.

Yep the jacket is definitely a Maverick, made in the early 70's. I think it was a mans a jacket based on where I got the picture. Here is a picture:

Here is the link I got the picture from ( actually it was a Google image search.) :http://www.ballyhoovintage.com/15/15214.html

    Newbie here...

Is it possible that this girl is wearing RC's denim jacket? If she's 5'3'' it's big for her (look at the shoulders). We also know RC is partial to denim - he wore a jacket for one of his trials and in one old B&W photo he appears to be wearing one over a shirt (though I can't tell if it matches the jacket in missing girl's photos). The shirt underneath is faded red. I strongly believe it is the same girl.

From the recent 48 Hours Mystery story:

"There are four other murders in New York that have been linked to Rodney Alcala," Murphy says. "Weve worked very closely with the police in New York. And we have every confidence that they will get the job done."
