At first I thought this picture was of a little boy, but then I figured it was cut off at the chest so as not to show the breasts, so it must be of a young girl.

I think this girl might be Christina White: "Christina was last seen at the Asotin County Fairgrounds on April 28, 1979. She was riding a 10-speed Schwinn bicycle that has also never been located." (Sounds also like Acala's MO, put the bike in the trunk, etc.)
She was 12 when she went missing. There are several different pictures of her at different ages at the Namus site. (Why they lead with 9 YOA, I don't know?) She had a gap in her teeth, but her 12 year old picture shows it gone. (Looks like a crown?) She too has a boyish look about her and her hair color and skin color seem the same as the Alcala UID. In one of the pictures she has her hair parted on the side, others in the middle. I wonder if she had gotten a new hairstyle after the 12 YOA picture was taken. I think it's a possibility. Her features are very similar. (Except the eyebrows bug me!) Take a look and see what think?

Can anybody tell if the blue background person has two ear piercings like Christina is supposed to have?

A bigger pic for comparison. After looking I do not see a resemblance.

Someone on the original general thread posted different pictures of Christina that looked remarkably similar to this alcala pic but I can't find it now! If anyone else can, please link it here!

This is quite a long shot but this unidentified female made me think of Joyce Gaunt. The picture of her here:

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2011445336_serialkiller26m.html

is blurry but there are similarities.. Joyce Gaunt fits Alcala's MO and
I can't help but think her picture is somewhere in his collection. Sometimes people look different in different pictures. Any chance this could be her?

Forgot to say I am referring to picture 2 in the link.

]On July 10, 1979, the skeletal remains of a white female and of a white male were found near Hwy. 20, West of Willits, in Mendocino Co., CA. The estimated date of death is 12/8/1978. Jane is estimated to be 14 years old and was about 5'5-1/2" in height. She was wearing the pictured hoop with a pearched-bird earring (pierced-ear type). John is estimated to be 13 years old and was about 5'5" in height. It is possible these children were related, perhaps brother and sister.

]Originally, the two were believed to have been related, however, after forensic DNA testing it was determined they were not maternally related.
It is believed they were teenage boyfriend and girlfriend from the Midwest and most likely hitchhiking to get away from their families.

I was wondering, Where does he fit into the equation? As they were found together. And this sadly, would still leave her UID as she is a Jane Doe. It would be interesting to know if any pics that looked similar to him were found.

I can see the similarities Redbird. I found another picture of Joyce Gaunt. I think it looks so much like this unidentified female, especially their chins.

I dunno, but I think the girl in Alcala's picture is much younger than 17, and I don't think the nose or chin/jaw are right to be Joyce.

We were originally thinking this was a boy, and I think it was Carlk who did an overlay of this young man's face, but I don't think he did the little girl's on this Alacla picture, he used the little girls on a different one. I can't remember where that thread is.

The haircut of this young lady suggests to me that the picture was taken circa mid-late 1960s as opposed to post-1970. Also, she seems quite young -- I would guess early-to-mid teens. I was looking into missing/unsolved cases in New Hampshire circa mid-to-late 1960s and came upon Joanne Dunham, age 15.

According to NH DOJ website:
"On June 11, 1968 at approx 7:10 a.m., Joanne Dunham, age 15, was last seen while walking from her home at Raiche Mobile Homes in Charlestown, N.H. enroute to her bus stop on her way to school. She never got on the bus. Her body was found at approx 4:15 p.m. the following day on a roped off dirt road on Quaker City Road in Unity NH approximately 5½ miles from where she was abducted. An autopsy determined that Joanne died of asphyxiation."

Just a gut feeling I have but I think this boy and girl would both be in the Alcala pics, if he took any of them. It has always bothered me that they are UID, 2 young kids like that and no one misses them. Just sad.

It can't be for obvious reasons but I think Joyce Gaunt looks a lot like the UID boy:

Wow Donjeta I think you're right they do look a lot a like. Thing is though, they would have been able to tell if it was a boy or girl by the skeleton right? I think the resemblance is uncanny none the less. Wonder if that was ever a question?

We keep forgetting (or overlooking) that from what we've read in a couple of different articles, Alcala had many, many pictures of nude teenage boys. So where are those pictures? What happened to them and the boys who posed for them? I think he was making a living selling *advertiser censored*. JMHO.

No, it's just a coincidence.
I don't know if there's a chance of mistaking the gender of a skeleton but even if the UID was really a girl it's not Joyce Gaunt because she's not missing. Her body has been found.
