I don't see a Susan Smiley in either Charley, NAMPN, NamUs, or DoeNet.

There's an Alicia Smiley, but she is a black girl who was 3 years old when she went missing in 1985.

Do you have a link to any info on Susan?

Sorry I was in a hurry and misspelled the name here is the link:

    http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/102dftx.html

Her name is Susan Smalley. There is also another skull on Namus that was found in Oklahoma that reminds me of the one she went missing with Stacie Madison. Just an idea the recreation and the girl look similar.

I thought her name sounded familiar. I've looked at her case a few times. She does have a very similar facial shape to Susan. Since we have only a skull, we don't know how tall she was. Susan was 5'8" - a little on the tall side for a woman

A couple of things though - the recon appears to depict a chipped front tooth. I wonder if that was chipped antemortem or postmortem. I believe they do have a way of telling the difference.

Also, the skull was found recently, and Susan and Stacy disappeared back in 1988. I guess her remains could have been buried for 20 years, and then washed from land into the river, and up onto the banks.

I'd say it's a good possible, given that there is so little to go on.

How would find out if she has been ruled out?

If you don't see her name in the NamUs casefile for this UID ...
https://identifyus.org/cases/6728 (Nancy Medina is the only name listed)

... you can check out Websleuths rule-out thread:
You can also do a Websleuths site-wide search on Susan Smalley's name and the UID's NamUs and DoeNet case numbers to see if that possible match was considered before in discussion on a different thread (BTW, there doesn't appear to be a DoeNetwork case file for this UID).

... and you can check out Porchlight's rule-out threads:

http://z13.invisionfree.com/Porchlig...ex.php?act=idx (scroll down to the "Potential Matches" section).

If you can't find evidence of a submission or rule out by the above means, the only other option that I know of is to just call in and ask.

BTW, the NamUs file indicates that no jawbone was found. Therefore, any resemblance in the chin and jawline is coincidental.

Susan Smalley has dentals available and entered.
    Her DNA tests are complete.

The UID has DNA complete and entered and dentals for the maxilla are available.
    https://identifyus.org/cases/6728
    - - f a n no o o o n no n a o a n

    3 - OL Amalgam
    6 - Rotated 90 degrees clockwise
    7,8,9,14 - Root Only
    11 - facial cavity
    16 - facial cusps missing

Can we assume that they were not a match based on dentals or does the system require data for both jaws to alert for potential matches?
