I really think that these two match...

http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/2082dfar.html

Linda Louellen Reynolds
Missing since May 17, 1982 from Fort Smith, Arkansas

Age at Time of Disappearance: 30 years old
Height and Weight at Time of Disappearance: 5'6"; 110 lbs.
Distinguishing Characteristics: White female. Blonde hair; hazel eyes.
AKA: Lindy
Circumstances of Disappearance
Lindy Reynolds was last seen on May 17th, 1982. She had gone out to a local club. Sometime during the night she had returned her car to her parent’s home and left them a note. The note said she would be home in time for work at 5 PM. She never returned.
Reynolds liked the club scene and hanging out with band members. She had left her home before but always contacted her family.

And the doe I think that might be her:

Let me know if anyone else sees the resemblance. Thanks...

Hi Emmie,

This is like a lot of PM's I look at. They are all mainly 'could be's.' There is nothing to tie them strongly, yet nothing to say it isn't a match.
There is one problem I have with this PM though. There was a 2 month difference between this MP and UID being discovered. Those 2 months have to be accounted for and it says she died with 24 hours of being found, yet we see on the MP that she always contacted home, which she never did. It suggests if something happened to her, it happened almost immediately.
Sorry but I am saying No Match.

My thought on the 2 month difference is that she ran away to hang out with a band (maybe to be a groupie) and got swept away in the party atomsphere and left her whole world behind. Something bad happened in Nevada and she was killed there...maybe not a match but I think facially they look a lot alike

They do lookalike and most of the statistics match, except for the height- although in quite a few UID cases on The Doe Network, the estimated height is unknown due to partial remains or only the skull being found

it says the jane doe possible had given birth to at least one child and on the missing page for the other person it mentions nothing of having a child or giving birth and im almost certan when you have had a child and died they can tell without a doubt

This is my first post here and after reading on this board for a month I decided that I wanted to join and try doing what you all do. I had previously attempted a match on a different case which in the beginning looked very good but dental ultimatly ruled it out. After that I was hooked.

This is a case that hits very close to home for me as I live in Reno and this occured only about 45 minutes away from my house. It is a case I feel had some good info in it but maybe police only searched the wrong side of the mountain for clues.

On both side of Mt. Rose we have many cities. Reno to the east with Carson City to the southeast. Lake tahoe and stateline to the west with Sacramento about 100 miles to the west.

Now judging from the way she was dressed this was for a day outing. She is very possibly a local who went to the mountain. She was located in sheep flats which is small meadow just past the summit of mount rose. A smaller lake is near there about another mile down the road.
If anyone here watches bonaza you know this meadow, they shot a lot of incidental scenes of just the meadow there.
I think it is very possible she came from the west side of the mountain more so the east where Reno is only because that is a small city where literally you will come accross the same people every week, trust me I know. Someone would recognize her her within a month.
I imagine this wasn't circulated in the Sacramento area either. Where I'm focusing on in in the immediate western side of the mountain.
Anyone working any cases in the northern California area that might have seen a similar missing person?

I suspect, based on the European dental work, that this woman was a visitor from Europe. I wonder if LE has ever checked on European visa overstays from that time period.

Or what I was thinking is possibly a casino worker from another country like Poland or eastern Europe. They bring them in all the time to work at lower wages at certain parts of the year.

She could have been just ending her work period and had only a few weeks left in the country.

A bruised big toenail is often from walking or hiking in shoes that don't fit very well. I wonder if she wasn't prepared to walk as far as she did.

Are there particular places where she and her companion might have parked to reach the lake from the western side?

Well from the looks of the area the only kind of parking available is like on the side of the road.

Where this location is, is about 1 mile from the summit of the mountain heading west. The nearest lake is another mile or so north west. Lake Tahoe is about 10 miles down the road, in fact you can see Lake Tahoe from the mountain summit looking west.

During the day time it a wide open space.

Is there a name or number for the highway? I'm trying to locate this in googlemaps :p

on google maps type in

"mt. rose summit"

follow 431 west about 4000 feet and I take it back, there is a parking area.

I wonder if Linda Louellen Reynolds has been looked at.

The height, weight, age, eye-color, hair color, and timeframe are all pretty good.

The geography is a bit of a problem, but she has been known to have "left home before", and she was a groupie who liked to hang out with band members. Perhaps she followed a band to Reno.

No indication that she has ever given birth, or that she has a scar on her abdomen.

It looks like she was discussed as a possible for this case here (but apparently, not submitted).

does anybody think this could be a match? - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community

Hmmm washoe sherrif would barely give the time of day on any info on this case.

Tommy Lynn Sells admitted he killed a prostitute in the tahoe area around this time but has since shut his mouth on all of his crimes. Tahoe is close to I-80 which is a cross country freeway.

Thanks for the pic, Charlie. It's always good to have the postmortem because you never know how accurate the reconstruction is. In this case, the recon that I posted above, while very accurate on her facial shape, doesn't capture her Eastern European look.

The other two reconstructions by Wesley Neville are a bit closer on resemblance.

You can see that her eyes slope downward toward the ears, but the artist portrayed them as level from corner to corner.

It's also clear that she is not Linda Reynolds, even though she has a similar nose, and somewhat similar facial features

If anyone comes across any additional post mortem pics please post them here. So far this is the only one I can locate in relation to this case. Her doe network had some interesting composite drawings with her hair in a bun from behind which makes me think that's how she was found.
