    Breaking News

FBI agents conduct raids in Mich., Ohio, Ind.

"The FBI says agents have conducted weekend raids in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio, and at least three people have been arrested.

Federal warrants are sealed, but FBI spokeswoman Sandra Berchtold said Sunday there has been "law enforcement activity" in southwest Michigan. She wouldn't say whether they were tied to the raids in the other states...."

More info coming out on raids. They seem to be directed at particular religious/radical/militia groups. I'm seeing the name "Hutaree".

    http://www.detnews.com/article/20100...313/1409/rss36

At least seven people, including some from Michigan, have been arrested in raids by a FBI-led Joint Terrorism Task Force in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana as part of an investigation into an Adrian-based Christian militia group, a person familiar with the matter said.

The suspects are expected to make an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Detroit on Monday.

On Sunday, the FBI confirmed that federal law enforcement agents were conducting activities in Washtenaw and Lenawee counties over the weekend in connection to Hutaree, a Christian militia group. FBI Special Agent Sandra Berchtold told The Detroit News the federal warrants in the case are under court seal and declined further comment...."

The group has a MS page which is easy to access. Note there are photos of a Hutaree wedding (complete with camo wedding cake). Being that little kids are present, I'll not link to it. The page is ominous in that it says RIP as the mood for the day.

    Their Doctrine
    http://www.hutaree.com/doctrine.htm

The Doctrine of the Hutaree is based on faith and most of all the testimony of Jesus. Hebrews 11:1, ‘Faith is the substance of things hoped for, The Evidence of things not yet seen.’

Jesus spoke of the ten virgins in Matthew 25: 1-12. The wise ones took enough oil to last the whole night, just in case the bridegroom was late. The foolish ones took not enough oil to last the whole night and figured that the bridegroom would arrive earlier than he did.

These bridegrooms represent the Christian church of today. The oil, just as Jesus explained, represented faith. If you read the story right, you find out that the people with enough faith to last as long as it might take are the wise ones. They know and believe in the testimony of Christ, even through the darkest and most doubtful of times. This day is soon.

The foolish ones are the ones who expect Christ to arrive too soon. They have brought for themselves only enough oil to last for a short time, having not enough faith to last through the darkest hours. When the time comes for those without enough faith, they will fall to the Anti-Christ’s doctrine. And it will make perfect sense to the whole world; even the elect.

We all as Christians should stand firm in Christ and believe in him until our uttermost end. The testimony must by no means pass away and we must spread the word believing in Christ’s words, even during the end times.

Kimster why do you assume they are criminals? I've not seen any charges and I'm wondering what is going on.

I'm wondering if any of this sudden activity is related in any way to the recent release of the Harris poll which includes statistics concerning President Obama. I don't want to get myself banned and I typically don't post on political issues. However, I was honestly shocked to see the number of those polled who "think that Obama may be the anti-Christ". The numbers were, frankly, overwhelming to me. There's been a good bit of coverage on this poll this week. I wonder if the Hutaree group decided that a large majority of the country was supportive of their stance and now's the time to act?

I find it very telling, however, when well known, far right militia groups, refer to this group as a "cult" and refused to step in to help them. At least someone has some common sense.

I'd like to know what church that Hutaree wedding was held in. You can clearly see photos of the church Sunday School board in the wedding pics. Are the other church members supportive of the radicals in their flock?

I haven't read these articles yet, but I am not surprised by the overtones I am getting here at WS's. The world is changing, and that is a scary thing. People tend to fear change, and therefore, not trust it. That is not a bad thing at all.....it depends on how someone manages their distrust and suspicion. I like the old X-files motto- "Trust But Verify". Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, et.al, did NOT win our freedom with our First Ammendment rights.....they needed our Second Ammendment rights. Again I say - Trust but verify..... I am also a big believer in sanity and taking prudent action, which I fear is not the case on a mass scale.

Izz, was he polled to be the Anti-Christ before this health care business?

Lemme just say this and I'll shut up. There's some senior citizens really PO'd. There's people in my age bracket with careers they busted their tails for and what? Now for me the lower middle class I'm not a worrying.

Not trying to make light of any of this. I'm just listening to my gram and my mom and an elderly neighbor today be*tching about it. Justifiably.

Oh again not making light of it, but I thought Barney was the anti-Christ. I'd like to see the camo cake though. Just for the sake of seeing how it's done. I'm not clicking on that page though.

You settle down now, ma'am. Filly loves ya.

well if you ever visit the political forum you'll notice i refer to him as 'king barry' or 'the tyrant'. i think he is violaiting the constitution just to pass his pathetic scum sucking laws and backdooring, bribing his way to get the votes to pass it. and he crushes anyone who dares oppose him.

Dawud Walid, executive director of the Council on Islamic-American Relations of Michigan, made an announcement Sunday during the group's 10th anniversary banquet about receiving a call from a network journalist about the alleged threat against Muslims.

"Don't allow this news to scare you away from practicing your faith," said Walid.

Audible gaps were heard throughout the banquet hall when the news was announced. Walid said he will call local authorities about more information on the allegations. He urged local Muslims to recommitt themselves to their faith in light of the accusations.

I'm not sure I believe the news accounts on this...I want to see what ultimately happens here.

Closing my ears, kbl, I love you to death but closing my ears. Bleeding heart liberal over here and you know it. Pacifistic, bleeding heart, give away the store, anti-gun, vegetarian, sell her soul for a baby or a puppy kind of girl. Might I be.....a socialist? Oh, heck--maybe.

PS--I had my private insurance summarily canceled after 32 years by Blue Cross last year because of my Spinocerebellar Ataxia. In a heartbeat--gone. 32 years of self-employment with sky high rates and never a missed premium. All gone. My son just lost his insurance as he has Multiple Sclerosis. A working man with a family and no insurance. A simple registered letter. His medication bills alone are $3000/month. We're starting to sell off the construction equipment to pay for the meds for him and the anti-seizure drugs for me. We've already lost the home we built to raise our children in and all our rental properties. After 37 years of perfect credit, it's all gone due to unexpected medical crises--all occurring while fully insured. There's nothing more to give. We are totally uncovered unless something changes. Only two of my 13 adult children have insurance even though they all work. One takes his insulin only every other day to save costs as it costs him $395/month out of pocket. He's a pantry chef but his employer lets him sit while he works as he's so weak. You can't eat if you can't take your insulin. Something has to change.

Voted for the man, love the man, love everything he stands for. This is my country too. But I behaved myself when a man was in office who I did not trust, like or agree with. I didn't gather up an arsenal and yell "anti-christ" in a crowded theatre. In fact, I never spoke ill of the man. I respect the office.

Now, after starting the thread so graciously for all of you, I will now bow out and go back to my normal business of ferreting out pedophiles. Thank you very much.

Ok, the first reports said they were targeting Muslims, now the news says they were targeting police officers. Its unusual for our militias to target police and I'm skeptical of this. I want the warrants unsealed and the truth to be revealed.

well i dont like what he stands for. he's a tyrant who buys off or threatens those that dont agree with him. and he sets up websites for spies to inform on people who hate his stupid ideas.

if bush did half the things obama has done in 15 months,s he'd have been impeached already
