TX - Houston jogger finds missing baby dumped in bushes

A Houston jogger has found missing baby Genesis Haley, dumped in bushes after mom's car was stolen at a gas station. An amber alert was triggered overnight.

The baby is reported to have insect bites but otherwise be unharmed.

I cannot believe that

So, if I'm reading correctly, Mom's vehicle and baby were stolen while she was getting gas, but because she didn't have her cell with her, she walked?? home first to call LE?

Police ask that anyone with info about the suspect, not to post it on their FB page. Call them. There was a presser, but the you tube's not working for me. I expect there'll be developments in this case soon.

Maybe it was a gas station that doesn't have a store so there isn't a full time attendant?

ETA: I guess that doesn't make sense if she went inside to pay.

But the articles say she went inside to pay. Surely she couldn't go inside with no one working there. What kind of attendant wouldn't call 911 when a baby is taken? perhaps, the mom simply didn't say anything? I mean, someone drives away with my baby and I"m freaking out.

It's really strange, right?!

I just saw in the article she went inside. So either the whole thing is a hoax and she dumped the baby or it's a domestic incident and she knows the man?

Wow, they got an extremely detailed sketch for it being darn and 3:30 am, and it happening quickly. I don't know...

ETA: Oops. 1:00 am to get gas. It's still dark, though. I mean, she didn't pass ANYWHERE with a phone between 1:00 and 3:30? Not a single place? I would have been running for the first phone available...like the gas station in front of me. This STINKS

Supposedly there is a video.
"Houston police said Genesis Haley was left there by whoever stole her mother's car early Monday morning. MyFoxHouston reports that the mother left the child in the running car while she ducked inside a convenience store to get a soda. Seconds later, surveillance video shows, a man jumped in the car and drove away."

Mother says she couldn't convince the clerk to call 911. What in the world?

"The frantic mother ran home to call 911, telling HPD officers she was unable to convince a store clerk to notify the police, authorities said. Police did not release the mother's name."
