*snip* Coldiron too afraid to back out
Kris Wernowsky • kwernowsky@pnj.com • January 11, 2011
The prosecution will play a statement taken from Coldiron’s initial interview with investigators. “From the lips of Mr. Coldiron, he utters the words, ‘It’s not going to help me. I’m afraid if I tell everything I know, I’m going to jail for the rest of my life for murder,’” Molchan said.

He feared for his life, Coldiron lawyer says
Kris Wernowsky • kwernowsky@pnj.com • January 12, 2011
*snip* Lerman said Coldiron was too afraid to back out of the robbery after talk circulated that the players involved had mafia, drug and money laundering connections.

This theme comes up time and time again. Is there an element of truth in this, or was LPG, Jr. spinning his tales while being quite convincing?

daisy7, thanks for correcting the link on #9.
I was wondering where all the sleuthers have gone?? For personal reasons, I know that I lost a lot of interest after the People Magazine article, but I still want to follow the trials. I'm disappointed that media chose to just show parts of courtroom video rather than the entire proceeding!

There definitely is a lack of media for this trial. I didn't even know his trial was this week, until I heard about it on the radio this morning and I'm local to this case
Then I came here and saw you had started a thread, which I didn't read until today.
TY, Misskitty!!

Coldiron's Verdict
http://www.weartv.com/newsroom/top_s...id_13267.shtml
(audio report)
In this report, they make reference to his criminal history. I have read about one where he'd gotten into a fight with the police being called and he manned up and said yes I did it but the guy refused medical attention and later died that night. As I recall, that happened in TN. I don't recall anything about a father-in-law. Does anyone else?

Found a link, but I believe the author meant to say Wayne not William: http://www.wkrg.com/crime/article/co...-2009_7-30-pm/
*snip* William Coldiron and Terry Corbett argued on Dec. 13,
1992, at a home in Russellville. Corbett, who at first refused
hospital treatment after Coldiron notified authorities, later died.

I saw a documentary recently about the trial of a Pensacola car dealer named Samuels who hired a hit on his very recently remarried exwife and mother of his 3 young children. She survived, although quadriplegic, and testified against him at trial, putting him prison for life. His commented that the only mistake he made was marrying the wrong women. It seemed that he thought he had a HUGE pass to do anything he wanted in Pensacola.
What I am wondering is if he had any connections to the car dealers that have been involved in the Billings murder.
