IA - Taylor Franco, 19, La Porte City, 1 April 2012
Franco showed up at a home in the 11,000 block of La Porte Road in La Porte city early Sunday morning, thinking he was at his own home, even taking off his shoes inside. The homeowners convinced him it was not his house and called police after Franco walked away, having stolen nothing. The family's blood hound even ran off after Franco, and is also still missing.

This does not sound good.
At first I thought "meh, college kid who partied too hearty."
But then I read that roommates say he hasn't been acting like himself in the last few days. They've tracked him down to the Cedar River in a 500 acre wilderness area.
It's spring, we've had some good rain, the Cedar is running good and strong right now.
And then I think of all the dogs I've known. Some dogs are repelled by people with emotional problems and some dogs are drawn to them. Hounds tend to be very sweet and very concerned about people in general.
Oh dear.

WHAT A RELIEF!
I was worried about him last night. The low overnight was in the low 50s but it was so damp that it felt much colder.
Maybe the Bloodhound's owners will consider doing therapy work with him? He sounds like a natural.

It never ceases to amaze me what a well raised dog can do. Sounds like the dog could sense something was wrong and decided to protect her new friend.
