Canada - Rosemarie 'Kim' Junor, 28, stabbed to death, Toronto, 11 Dec 2015

Excellent article!
It is almost as if the victim was living the life that the accused aspired to, but was sidelined by mental illness and the troubling and bizarre, imo. aspects of RB's upbringing?

According to an ex-boyfriend of Rohinie’s, life at home was tightly controlled, and she grew increasingly resentful of her parents, especially her father, a devout Hindu with a conservative parenting style. The ex, whom I’ll call Geoffrey, agreed to be interviewed on the condition of anonymity. He says Rohinie told him she ran away from home when she was in her early teens. Two days later, a truck driver picked her up and brought her to the police. Some time after that, her father, fed up with her behaviour, took her to a Hindu healer for what he considered a cleansing ritual. Rohinie was made to remove her clothes in front of her father and have chicken blood poured on her.

Rohinie Bisesar has fired her lawyer on the same day as a psychiatrist’s assessment of her fitness to stand trial was submitted to the court.

Her Wednesday hearing in the specialized mental health court at Old City Hall was placed under a publication ban.

The case was recently transferred to that court following a series of paranoid speeches given by Bisesar in court and her hospitalization for a week under a provision of the Mental Health Act.

In previous court appearances Bisesar objected to having Barry as her lawyer, telling the court she did not have a mental illness and that Barry was not representing her interests in court.

TORONTO - Rohinie Bisesar, who’s accused of stabbing another woman in Toronto’s underground PATH system, was in court Monday, pleading her innocence and urging federal authorities to investigate her claims of international terrorism.

“I know something has happened to myself and my former common-law ... something we’re exposed to while we were both in investment banking,” said Bisesar, who was deemed mentally fit for trial last month.

“This is an important issue that should be investigated by federal (authorities),” said Bisesar. “I know this matter has to be dealt with as soon as possible.”

She was smiling and co-operative as court officers gently escorted her out of the large courtroom at Old City Hall.

Oh dear, she doesn't sound competent to stand trial to me... I remember reading somewhere though that people with delusions can be found fit to stand trial if they are rational about things other than their delusions and understand the court process and everything.

From August 8th:
Alleged PATH killer insists she's innocent

She claimed she would never commit such an offence and that she considers it “terrorism” and “an international crime” — a situation that needed to be addressed immediately.

“I am innocent of this crime ... I’m not sure what’s going on ... or who is responsible,” she said.

....
Bisesar told court she needed to be transferred from the Vanier Centre for Woman in Milton to be closer to her downtown Toronto business contacts who she was concerned were being “blackmailed” to turn on her.

She also said being at the Vanier Centre was causing negative physical reactions for her, citing skin problems.

“It interacts with my body,” she said, later adding, “I’m basically evidence.

Anymore updates on this case? You rarely see anything online when you Google her name. I think the last court appearance for her indicated June 6, but there are no more updates after that. Its so terrible that it's taking this long to get the ball rolling :(

Bisesar's next court date is January 23, 2017. The mother of the victim says she will be in attendance. Is this just another regularly scheduled appearance? I suppose the actual trial won't begin for another couple of years?

After more than a dozen court dates — which have included bizarre outbursts, the firing of a lawyer, and a psychological evaluation — Bisesar will be back in court in January and Rosalind says she’ll be there too.
....
Bisesar is scheduled to appear in court next on Jan. 23, 2017.

Has anyone following this case read about a potential 'mind control' theory?

While Rohinie Bisesar is considered by mind-control activists in Canada to be a possible victim of neuro-experimentation, the new frontier of absolute human control being covertly explored by military/Intelligence agencies (as per the accounts of victims, scientists, and whistleblowers), for a long while it was not clear to activists whether her defense attorney, David Connally, had indeed conveyed to Ms. Bisesar that there are others in Canada familiar with the symptoms of neuro-experimentation, sympathetic of her situation, and interested in helping her.

It's a fairly common paranoid delusion in schizophrenia - being convinced that someone or something is controlling your thoughts.

Yes.. these people seem to be trying to contact the accused to lend their support in that regard, not sure that it is coming from her though. I guess we never know how many delusional people are walking amongst us?

Next court date is Jan.30
Accused killer goes to trial without preliminary hearing

...

Accused killer Rohinie Bisesar, her face marked by several reddish-brown spots, appeared in Superior Court Monday as the Crown brought a preferred indictment on the first-degree murder charge.

The use of a preferred indictment was once rare, but it is now becoming more frequent.

Preferred indictments bring the case to a Superior Court trial sooner by skipping a preliminary hearing at the lower Ontario Court of Justice.
...

“This is of national security,” Bisesar told Justice John McMahon, who set the next court date for Jan. 30.

Bisesar has made similar outbursts during previous court appearances prompting judges to order psychiatric assessments which prolonged the court process. She has also fired lawyers, causing additional delays.

The preferred indictment means she won’t have to attend a preliminary hearing at Old City Hall courthouse, scheduled for Jan. 23. The hearing will be cancelled.

In court Wednesday, Bisesar said she is not responsible for Junor’s death.

“There is something interacting and controlling my body and that is why this has happened,” she said.

“Yes that was my body doing it but it wasn’t me.”
Bisesar, who has fired two lawyers, is scheduled to return to court next week to provide an update about the status of her representation.
The judge overseeing the case said he would like the murder trial to begin on January 8, 2018.

MARCH 24, 2017: Accused PATH killer to undergo Psych assessment

Justice John McMahon ordered the assessment as a prelude to determine if Bisesar was suffering from a mental disorder and not criminally responsible at the time of the murder.

His reasons for the order are covered by a publication ban.

Bisesar told the judge she still hasn’t hired a new lawyer after firing the previous two and has been interviewing prospective counsel.

McMahon urged her to secure a Legal Aid lawyer soon as her trial date has been set for next January.

[h=1]Woman charged in fatal stabbing is unfit to stand trial, court told[/h]A psychiatrist testifies Rohinie Bisesar has schizophrenia and is not fit to stand trial for the first-degree murder of Rosemarie Junor
The accused, Rohinie Bisesar, is “acutely unwell” and suffers from hallucinations and delusions, which are fixed and false beliefs, “insofar no evidence to the contrary will convince you it’s not true,” Dr. Ian Swayze told Ontario Superior Court.

Bisesar is charged with killing Rosemarie Junor, 28, on Dec. 11, 2015. She is scheduled to go on trial in front of a jury Jan. 8.

But the Crown, acting in Bisesar’s best interests, “should not prosecute an individual who is mentally unfit,” prosecutor Beverley Richards told court.

Ridiculous. She is clearly mentally unfit. SMDH..
