Authorities investigating the murder of two Indiana teen girls served a search warrant today at the home of the man who owns the property where the girls' bodies were found, state and local officials told ABC News.

As of yet, no arrests have been made in the double murder case that shook the rural small town of Delphi, Indiana. State police told ABC News today that property owner Ron Logan is not a suspect "at this time."

Logan’s attorney, Andrew Achey, said in a statement, “Mr. Logan had no involvement in this heinous crime.”

"I would like to caution the public to avoid jumping to conclusions before law enforcement has completed the ongoing investigation," Achey added. "Not only does Mr. Logan maintain his innocence but he also encourages anyone with information to call the tip line."

"It was something I couldn't get my emotions around," he said. "You can't believe that something this terrible in this community happened here on my property, in my back yard."

He told Inside Edition that he has an alibi, saying he was buying tropical fish at the time of the murders.

I was not home during the time all this was happening, I was in Lafayette and I didn't get home until 6:30 in the evening and the neighbors stopped and asked permission to look back here for the girls,” he said.

German shot a chilling image of the suspected killer approaching the girls on a hiking trial and she recorded the killer's voice which can be heard saying: “down the hill, down the hill.”

When asked by Inside Edition, he said he did not know the voice on the recording, saying: “Nothing that I recognize at all. No one. I don't recognize the voice at all.”

Meanwhile, as Logan's property is searched, Logan himself today is in the local jail on an unrelated charge, Leazenby said. Logan was arrested March 11, picked up on an arrest warrant for a probation violation, Leazenby said. A probation office spokesperson told ABC News the office cannot comment on pending cases.

Leazenby stressed, "Speculation and assumptions can quickly develop from something like this."

"Just because a search warrant is issued" on someone’s property, Leazenby said, does not mean an arrest follows.

State police said today authorities are still combing through the thousands of tips they've received in the double murder case.

Points taken from Alexis McAdam’s Interview with Tony Slocum:

Slocum:

-Numerous officers from various police departments serving a search warrant

-The warrant IS related to the double murder of these 2 young girls

-No one is arrest for the murders of Liberty German and Abigail Williams, but officers in this investigation have developed enough probable cause in order to get a Judge to sign a search warrant for Mr. Logan’s property and that’s why we are here today

McAdam’s:

And Mr. Logan is sitting in the Carroll County Jail on an unrelated charge that’s a probation violation, which I know Indian Police originally had to send out an alert on Twitter telling everyone, don’t convict anyone at this point in this double homicide, your still working on that but, talk a little bit about what the other officer had mentioned, how he was very cooperative at the beginning, and now that’s changed just a little bit, as this investigation goes on, and that’s something that happens

Slocum:

-I haven’t had any direct contact with Mr.Logan myself, but, he was co-operative in our investigation, but due to his circumstances NOW, he doesn’t want to talk to Law Enforcement, and there’s nothing wrong with that, that’s part of his rights, but we did, during the course of the investigation, develop probable cause to search his property, and that’s what officer’s are doing now

McAdam’s:

The search warrant is for his property and any outbuildings. The officers told McAdam’s that they could be looking for DNA, they could be looking for boot prints, foot prints, anything that could be a key in this investigation.

“At this time just because we’re serving a search warrant and he’s in jail, I don’t want people to make that connection that he’s under arrest for double homicide because he’s not at this time,” said Sgt. Tony Slocum, Indiana State Police.

A judge granted a warrant for investigators to search his home and everything on the 40-acre property. But investigators would not share what piece of evidence gave them probable cause.

“I don’t believe it was just one piece of evidence I think the totality of evidence led to probable cause where a judge was able to issue a search warrant and that’s a normal course of business,” said Sgt. Slocum. “It’s not the first time we served a search warrant in this case.”

Ron Logan, the owner of the property where the girls’ bodies were found the day after they went missing during a hike in the area of the nearby Monon High Bridge, was arrested March 11 and has been in the Carroll County Jail since. He is being held without bond on a probation violation in another matter, Sheriff Tobe Leazenby said.

The 77-year-old Logan has given many interviews to media organizations, including the Herald Journal, saying he was deeply upset that the girls were found on the property where he raised his son and has lived for 53 years.

“My home was violated. It’s been raped,” he said. “I can’t put a name on the emotion I feel.”

In the wake of Delphi's tragedy, Carroll County Sheriff Tobe Leazenby said Flora's four sisters have not been forgotten.

But after the bodies of Liberty German, 14, and Abigail Williams, 13, were found Feb. 14 in a remote, wooded area east of Delphi, Carroll County must now find answers to six unsolved deaths in less than three months.

"It’s a stressful and frustrating time for our agency," he said. "Obviously we don’t get everything resolved in the county, but I still operate off the simple fact that good wins over evil, and that's where I stand with both cases."

Leazenby also acknowledged that "the resources in both cases are at much different levels.

"I'll be honest, probably part of it is that having multiple federal investigators," he continued. "Any time you throw FBI into the mix, I think that heightens a lot of awareness to a particular investigation."

CURRENT DNA INFORMATION

On February 23, 2017, it was reported that investigators say they had recovered DNA evidence from the Delphi crime scene where two girls, 13-year-old Abby Williams and 14-year-old Libby German, were found murdered.

That evidence now has top priority for processing by investigators. It’s a strong lead, in a case where authorities have been clamoring for any clue about the murderer.

After that report, Carroll County Sheriff Tobe Leazenby is clearing up some misconceptions about the Delphi double homicide case released by other media outlets on Friday.

Leazenby said he has never confirmed DNA evidence was recovered in this case and said the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is still taking the lead in this investigation.

UPDATE: Ron Logan had an Evidentiary Hearing scheduled today on his Probation Violation Charge. I'm told it's been continued. His attorney tells me he remains in custody. You'll remember police searched Logan's property in Delphi Friday. It's the same property where two Delphi teens were found murdered. I asked police for an update on the search. I'm told they were there from 9:30 AM Friday until 11PM Friday. Investigators are still going over what they found. Logan has NOT been charged in connection to the deaths of the two girls. He remains in custody on the unrelated probation violation charge. They are still working on rescheduling the Evidentiary Hearing.

DELPHI, Ind. -- Five weeks into the investigation, more questions than answers remain as police try to find the person responsible for the murders of two teen girls in Delphi.

After a weekend off to rest and recharge, state and federal authorities got back to work Monday morning.

“It’s been over a month, they just needed time to reacquaint themselves with their families,” said Indiana State Police Sergeant Kim Riley. “To get refreshed, so they can come back this morning and start right back at it.”

“We’re trying to basically clear him or look at him even stronger,” said Sgt. Kim Riley. “That’s about all I can say at this point in time.”

Investigators spent several hours searching the home and property it sits on, but have not released any details about the search. They say it could take more than three weeks to process any evidence taken during their search. Logan is not being released from jail at this time.

“I’m not aware of an investigation of this size ever occurring in a county of our size,” said Carroll County Prosecutor Robert Ives. “It’s probably happened in big cities, but not here.”

Investigators are still combing through over 13,000 tips that have come in so far, and Ives said they are still receiving up to 200 a day.

“This is a case, there’s lots of evidence out there but it needs to be matched up with a person, and that hasn’t been done yet,” said Ives.

Police have issued a search warrant on the property where the bodies of Indiana teens were found.
HLN

The man who owns the land where 14-year-old Liberty German and 13-year-old Abigail Williams' bodies were found continues to sit in jail 10 days after his arrest.

He was scheduled to have an evidentiary hearing Monday in Carroll Superior Court 1, during which prosecutors typically lay out the case that the probationer violated the terms of his release, and the probationer, in turn, launches a defense against the allegations.

The Journal & Courier is not identifying the individual because he is not a suspect, and as of Tuesday, he is not accused of any wrongdoing related to the killings, according to police.

Leazenby did not say Tuesday what police might have found during the search or whether anything there linked the property owner to the killings.

Online rumors and social media tales about the man's possible involvement in the killings forced Leazenby to transfer the man to another county's jail for his own safety, the sheriff said last week. However, by early this week, the man was back in the Carroll County Jail, Leazenby said.

Police said that the photo came from a video that Libby had taken on her cell phone.

They also released audio of a man’s voice that the phone video had captured. The words “down the hill” are heard.

The image and audio have circulated publicly for more than three weeks.

“It's not often that we have a picture of the suspect, or the sound of his voice,” said Carter. “That’s a first in my career.”

Police have said they have more video but they are not releasing it.

Memorial to be held in Stanton for murdered Indiana teen

STANTON — While Indiana State Police continue to investigate a double homicide that occurred over a month ago in Delphi, Ind., relatives of one of the victims plan to hold a memorial in Stanton.

Cliff Williams of Grand Rapids is the grandfather of Abby Williams, 13, whose body was found at Delphi Historic Trail on Feb. 14.

The weekend before Abby’s death, Cliff had visited her in Indiana and took her shopping.
