FIrefighters want to see that Sabrina is laid to rest with dignity but their efforts are being thwarted:

Now nearly four weeks after her death, Sabrina's body remains in limbo. "It is my understanding the adoptive parents have been charged with basically murder of this girl, yet they still have parental rights and at this point they have not waved their parental rights," said Hinds.

"Court documents indicate Justin Ray “drop-kicked” Sabrina Ray down the basement staircase, causing her to land on the basement floor.

According to court documents, Sabrina suffered serious injury and was unable to walk, talk, eat or drink following that act. The incident happened sometime between March 1 and May 12 of 2017."

So this child was unable to walk, talk, eat or drink since between March and May and she has been in that state ever since and this is July?????

This is so *advertiser censored****G premeditated!!!!!!!!! They had MONTHS to get her to a hospital....

Those other people charged need to be charged with murder too.

rsbm for focus. i may be misinterpreting your post but wanted to clarify just in case. You seem to be saying Sabrina has been unable to walk/talk/eat/drink from May (or earlier) until July. But Sabrina was found deceased in the home on May 12th. Not intending to diminish how horrible this is in any way.

Thanks for clarifying that. Still... who came up with the timeline of the incident happened sometime between March and May 12??? Had no one outside the family seen her since March? Did someone in the family give that timeline? This is strange.

'Cold and cruel': Brother of starved teen Sabrina Ray pleads guilty, gets 10 years in prison

Justin Dale Ray, 22, pleaded guilty to two counts of willful injury. Sabrina Ray, 16, was found dead May 12 at the home of her foster parents in Perry. In the weeks before Sabrina died, Justin drop-kicked her down a basement staircase, leaving her unable to walk, talk, eat or drink normally, prosecutors have said.

District Judge Terry Rickers sentenced Justin to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty at the Dallas County Courthouse in Adel. The judge called his behavior "cold and cruel and despicable."

Josie Raye Bousman, Sabrina's 20-year-old cousin, is charged with three counts of kidnapping, child endangerment causing death and obstructing prosecution. She helped keep Sabrina confined and denied her food and water, according to a criminal complaint.

Her trial is scheduled to begin March 26.

Marc Ray, the adopted father, Wants Murder, Abuse Trial Moved Out of Dallas County

A motion filed Thursday claims there has been too much media coverage of Sabrina Ray’s case for Marc Ray to receive a fair trial in Dallas County. The motion also claims coverage of the murder trial of Nicole Finn in Polk County makes it difficult to find impartial jurors because the cases were often linked in media reports about the Iowa Department of Human Services.

He dropped kicked her like she was a football. These people are white trash - hey we got a free kid that makes us money that we can abuse. What was this a free for all? Sick.

Sabrina Ray's adoptive grandmother reaches plea agreement with prosecutors

The adoptive grandmother of a malnourished teenager who died last May has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors.

Court documents show 63-year-old Carla Bousman will appear at the Dallas County Courthouse in Adel on April 6 for a plea hearing. The documents do not specify what charges Bousman will plead to.

Grandmother of starved teen Sabrina Ray sentenced to 20 years in prison

Carla Bousman, 63, was sentenced to 20 years in prison Friday after pleading guilty to neglect of a dependent person, accessory after the fact, obstruction of prosecution, two counts of false imprisonment and two counts of child endangerment.

Dallas County District Court Judge Terry Rickers accepted Bousman's plea Friday and ruled that the sentences for each crime should run consecutively for a total of 20 years — the maximum sentence allowed under the plea deal.

"After hearing what you had to tell the court today, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the maximum sentence in this case is the only appropriate sentence," Rickers said. "Grandmothers are supposed to be special to their grandkids. Grandmas are supposed to spoil their grandkids."

Rickers said Bousman's contact with her grandchildren "was nothing but a nightmare for them."

Sabrina Ray's parents plead not guilty to fraud, theft charges

Marc Alan Ray, 42, and Misty Jo Bousman-Ray, 41, entered pleas of not guilty to charges of ongoing criminal conduct, first-degree theft and first-degree fraudulent practice Tuesday in Dallas County District Court, according to online court documents.

Jake Feuerhelm, a lawyer for Marc Ray, has said the charges deal with funds the Rays received from the Iowa Department of Human Services.

Change of Venue Hearing Scheduled in Sabrina Ray Murder Trial

Online court documents filed Wednesday show a change of motion hearing will be held on June 20th for Marc and Misty Ray. The couple is claiming an unbiased jury cannot be found in Dallas County due to pre-trial publicity about the case -- as well as a similar case involving the recent trial of Nicole Finn.

'It's past due': 17 months later, Sabrina Ray's friends, family hold celebration of life service

In spring 2017, 16-year-old Sabrina Ray was found dead in the home of her adoptive parents in Perry.

On Sunday afternoon at the Church of Christ in Earlham, her family was finally able to hold a celebration of life service for her. It was a ceremony they weren't sure they'd ever be able to have.

"We didn't know whether we were finally going to be able to get her remains or not," said Eugene Busch, Sabrina's grandfather. "We were hoping and praying that we would, and our prayers finally came true."
