The Albuquerque Police Department is looking for anyone who could be connected to a missing man.

Police believe three people -- Mitchell Overhand, Chase Smotherman and Mariah Ferry -- are involved in the disappearance of John Soyka. APD says the three drove a red, older model Chevrolet Silverado with New Mexico plate AAZ L91 west of Rio Rancho and east of Rio Puerco when their vehicle got stuck.

Overhand and Smotherman were recently arrested after allegedly torturing someone who owed them money over drugs.

According to APD, someone helped them get out of the sandy area. Police believe that person drove a white Jeep or truck that possibly had a winch. This happened sometime between Aug. 6 and Aug. 12. There may have been photos taken as well.

Tressler told police that while he was being beaten, he was shown a computer with a photo of his dead mutilated friend on the screen.

That friend, is identified in the documents as 41-year-old John Soyka. Albuquerque Police say that Soyka has been missing since August 7th.

Tressler told police in an interview that Smotherman told him, “look what we had to do to him (Soyka).”

[h=1]APD: Suspect told police missing man beaten, possibly dismembered, in his garage[/h]
Officer Tanner Tixier said 45-year-old Jose Torrez admitted to police that John Soya, 41, was beaten and possibly dismembered in Torrez’s garage at 6217 St. Joseph’s NW.

Police have been looking for Soyka since Aug. 8, when Matthew Tressler was reportedly kidnapped, beaten and shown a photo of Soyka’s body, sexually mutilated, in the back of a pickup truck.
Tressler told police that Chase Smotherman, 29, Mitchell Overhand, 45, and Mariah Ferry, 19, were the ones who kidnapped him and told him they killed Soyka over a drug debt. The group eventually let Tressler go, and all three are now in jail.
Tixier said police served a search warrant around 6 a.m. Wednesday on Torrez’s home, with assistance from the SWAT team, directly related to Soyka’s disappearance.

Wonder why these 3 heartless killers let one of them go? Thank the Lord they did!

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Police in Albuquerque say a man missing for more than a month has been found dead and the case is being investigated as a homicide.
They say the body of 41-year-old John Soyka of Albuquerque has been located, but details weren't immediately released Thursday.
Police say a suspect told detectives last month that Soyka allegedly had been beaten and possibly dismembered in a northwest Albuquerque garage.
Authorities have been looking for Soyka since Aug. 8.
The Albuquerque Journal reported on Aug. 30 that a man told police he was kidnapped by three people who told him they killed Soyka over a drug debt.

Since then detectives arrested Chase Smotherman, 29, Mitchell Overhand, 45, and Mariah Ferry, 19, on a slew of charges in the kidnapping case. Overhand is notorious for having killed his parents and buried them in the backyard in the 1980’s. He was convicted on those charges but released from prison in that case in 2010.

I would love to hear the excuse for why release sounded like a good idea there. He killed his own parents.
