• Clothing: A tank top with pastel stripes, cut off jeans and blue and white tennis shoes. She had no purse or identifying papers in her pockets.
• Jewelry: A Timex watch with a brown leather band on her left wrist.
• Fingerprints: Available.
• Dentals: Available. Her teeth were in good condition, upper two front teeth had dental restorations

Case History
Blackberry pickers searching through woods near Paine Field found the woman's partially decomposed body August 14, 1977, in the woods a half-block off Emander Road in Everett.
Investigators speculated she might have grown up on the East Coast, where the mineral balance in water could have kept her teeth so white.
As the body was discovered, 22-year-old David Marvin Roth was picked up by Gold Bar police on a weapons charge. An informant told police Roth had described picking up a hitchhiker days before and drinking beer with her. She told him she lived with two men. They went into the woods. She resisted his advances, and he strangled her with an elastic cord and shot her in the head seven times.
Police matched slugs found in the woman's head to Roth's .22-caliber rifle. He was convicted in 1979 and sentenced to life in prison. He did not know the victim's name.

Unlike most cold cases involving unidentified victims, Snohomish County sheriff's detectives actually know who killed the young woman whose remains were found about 30 years ago in blackberry brush south of Everett.

The evidence pointed to David M. Roth, then 20, who was convicted of first-degree murder in 1979 and sentenced to prison. Despite Roth's confession to a detective, he swore he never knew the name of the hitchhiker he picked up, then strangled and shot several times after she refused to have sex with him one day in August 1977.

The girl's identity still eludes sheriff's investigators, who Thursday released a new composite sketch of "Jane Doe." They hope someone will recognize their murder victim -- maybe a family member who reported her missing. And they hope to bring both cases some closure.

The height is an exact match (don't know too many girls that are 5'10"). I know she went missing from a different part of the country, so it's probably a long shot, and the photo of her isn't very good.

Circumstances of Disappearance
Kimberly Morgan was only 15 and still in school when she got married, in January 1972. The couple had two daughters. The couple separated frequently and Kimberly twice filed for divorce, once in 1974, and again on April 13, 1977, little more than a month prior to their final meeting at a pizza parlor in Wheatland.
The husband had met with Kimberly to give her some money. Patrons at the restaurant were interviewed later and remembered that the couple had argued and departed shortly after their arrival.
The husband told police he and Kimberly left the restaurant in separate vehicles and that, hours later, a member of his family had spotted her car parked on Highway 65 approximately two miles from Sheridan. When the husband went to that location with his brother, they found the car, keys still in the ignition, and her checkbook.
But Kimberly was gone. Friends interviewed after her disappearance said Kimberly would never have left her daughters voluntarily, and sheriff's investigators announced that she was likely a victim of foul play.

ETA RULED OUT What about Cherry Greenman? She is missing from Washington, though, so you think they would have checked her. Her DNA is in CODIS, but you never know... Height and weight are close, but not exact. She was known to hitchhike in the area at the time. Long shot, but maybe?

Age: 19 years old
Height and Weight: 5'7, 135 pounds
Distinguishing Characteristics: Caucasian female. Brown hair, brown eyes. Greenman has a birthmark on her forehead.

Greenman is believed to have been last seen in Waterville, Washington on September 14, 1976, but it is possible that she went missing after that date. She has never been heard from again. Greenman is described as a "free spirit" who frequently hitchhiked from state to state in 1976, but she did keep in touch with her family. She may have traveled elsewhere in Washington state, or to Oregon, around the time of her disappearance. Few details are available in her case.

According to police, Jane Doe was hitchhiking near Silver Lake, when David Roth, 20 years old at the time, picked her up on his way back from swimming. Police said they went to an area near where her body was later found and drank some beer. When she refused his sexual advances, he strangled her and then shot her.

David Roth, 34, confessed to killing a hitchhiker in August 1977. The woman was never identified and was buried as "Jane Doe."
David Roth is serving a life sentence at the state prison in Walla Walla. He is eligible for parole in 1997.

Do we know the eye color on her?

No, she was deceased about 5 days before they found her. Her hair is light brown to brown. Silver Lake is East of the city of Everett about 20 minutes drive on hwy 2. Everett is about 20 minutes north of Seattle.

The missing womans DNA is in CODIS but it looks like the unidentified females hasn't made it yet into the databank. They exhumed her this spring I believe and the detectives have worked really hard on this case. That would make me think they've looked into everyone they can find in Washington but you never know as sometimes one is missed. Her case history fits nicely.

From what I remember reading the killer helped with the sketch in particular the hair style. So we may be looking for a girl who kept her hair that style, then again he may be a total liar.

If you think this one should be checked please do in whatever way you wish.

She must have never had children otherwise they should have reported stretch marks. I found a young woman who looks like her, but can't be. I sometimes wonder if the date of report can be after they actually disappeared because someone reports them late and no one else knows the difference. So I always look a month over.

Odd side note...since she seems to have been wearing Men's shoes, she may have irregular arches to her feet. My mother has very wide arches to her feet and has to wear men's shoes since they are wider. Some other women do too.
Then again, it could have been a fashion statement.

Found her in namus.gov. They have her ID potential as four stars out of five (that's good). They also give the address where she was found. I'm not sure that I am allowed to give it, but it's there if someone wants to see the area.

I've worn guys shoes too - wide feet. I have always thought of this beauty as a free-spirit kind of hippie girl. She was very tall and I've searched the missing persons sites from all over the country based mostly on that characteristic with no luck. My gut feeling is that she thumbed her way to WA and is not necessarily from the NW. I will keep looking!
