I have been just monitoring this forum/case for a while. I watched as new developments were announced. ie. trucks with pictures, new video and press releases. But I lost hope some time ago. When I read the SW for the DG property. The details are burnt into my brain. The cell phone patterns, the "I gotta go" to his girlfriend at exactly the time Lindsey would be walking by, the conflicting stories to LE and on and on. I'm convinced. And I stopped searching when I realized my guy was an avid bow hunter. He knows all about getting well off the road to dispose of a body.

Yet I see you guys looking at developing other suspects so I am left asking myself two questions. One is "why?" The other is "Did I miss something?" Was there a develpment that mitigated all the SW info and I was wrong?

Right now, I believe LE has their guy. They just don't have a case. Someone please tell me if I am wrong. Also, if I've crossed some forum "lines" here, I apologize and will delete this message if it in anyway compromises our goals.

Welecome back Mike!!!!

We missed you!!

The guys in yellow are the divers from Thurston County.

Thank you very much, JenniferO.

Around Boston, when you see that combination of vehicles and personnel out, that means they're looking for somebody who drowned. LE isn't usually called in until and unless something is found. Also, sometimes there will be police or sheriff's personnel riding in the other vehicles.

I didn't see anything about McCleary on KIRO's website, but I did see a lot of coverage of a coast guard ferryboat evacuation drill.

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- A 9-year-old girl said she was approached by a man in a car when she was walking home from school on Friday.
...
The girl described the man as a white man in his 50s, with medium-length reddish hair, a thin, sunken face, yellowish teeth and obvious silver fillings. She said he was wearing a red T-shirt with a picture of Jimi Hendrix on the front.

He was driving a gray or silver boxy-type vehicle such as a Scion XB or Honda Element. It had a 3-d baseball on back window, one that looks like it's lodged in the window.

She said the vehicle looked “beat up” and also noticed the vehicle had a bumper sticker or other decal of some sort which read something like “Rock and Roll” or “Walk and Roll,” police said.

Sounds like she got a pretty good description of the guy. Hope they get this sicko off the streets.

since I've received numerous PMs on this subject and I'm sure everyone is curious.. no, I didn't see them searching the water tower area, any wells, the city park and I did not see any men wearing white suits. What you see in the pictures posted above is all we saw.

Wells? I don't know of any wells in McCleary, as far as I know everyone is on city water. I guess there could be old wells in peoples yards but I didn't see any personal properties being searched. Only public (either storm water drain or possibly the sewer drain. Didn't ask which it was they were searching)
There are water retention areas outside of the city, it's possible they searched those but I didn't go to those so I have no idea if it was searched. Same with the water tower area, I didn't go there.
There was work going on at Beerbower park by the city workers. Looked to me like they were digging up the sod in the infield of the baseball park, replacing some fences and they had also cut a few trees down.

Hope that answers everyones questions. :)

**Correction**
I was just informed that an FBI agent and a County Sheriffs detective were in McCleary during the searches today. They spoke with MB. I left before that happened so I wasn't aware of it until now.

MCCLEARY, Wash. -- Crews searched manhole covers and searched a canal in McCleary for missing 11-year-old Lindsey Baum.

Grays Habor County Undersheriff Rick Scott said it’s a “routine follow up search” for Baum who has been missing since June 26. They were searching the sewers near where Lindsay was last seen.

I do not buy the "routine follow up search" line.... AT ALL. I pray they have a tip and I pray they find her. She deserves to be found and she deserves justice.

This is how LE at PCSO releases a press release when they look for Haleigh too. And it has been storming in the northwest...not the best time to launch a "routine search", IMO. I pray they have a strong lead!!! :praying:

Thanks for the great pics JennO! They turned out really good.

They said this was a new search of the same area with new equipment they didn't have available before. So whatever  I think that I heard that LE did search the manholes before with a camera?

Today, they had actual divers being strapped with tanks and they were lowering them into all the manholes (sewer or whatever, idk?) all along Maple St. and across to the Shell station. Then the divers took off down the canal and went back there. They weren't searching the park. They were doing work on the ball field. We were parked there. And they weren't searching wells as far as I know.

I had heard earlier (before we got there) that FBI or LE and their dogs were off of Maple and 6th but I didn't see them the rest of the day. And believe me, we looked for them

At least there is some movement here and I'm happy about that. I hope they keep it up and I hope the perp/perps don't like it :)

I like the slideshow.

And I don't buy the whole "routine follow up" stuff..

Yeah, that is a really serious operation. If they had new equipment and were just making a routine followup or training, they could have done it with half the personnel that shows in the photos.

:crossfingers:

As far as I can remember, there are 3 large wells in the city of McCleary that provide water for the town; one is on doorplant property, one is near the east end of town, and I don't remember where the other one is, I'd have to find my water map again. In additon to the water tower up on the hill, there are several water retention areas scattered throughout the forested areas surrounding McCleary, most owned by timber companies, so there's water in case of fires.

At least some of the work being done at the park is due to a tree that fell during the last storm...one of the trees over by the picnic shelter broke off and fell toward the ball field.

My personal life intruded so I haven't been on this site nearly as often as I would like...and I'm still reading through everything I missed. I'm just glad to see people haven't given up.

What can we here at w/s do to help?

anything?

any news on how MomB and Josh are doing?.....are they getting some help?

Here's what I'm doing. I became president of the Citizens Against Crime group here on the Key Peninsula. The agenda that I am pursuing always has an underlying component that might help prevent what happened in Mcleary from happening here. Increasing awareness, using technology, developing processes and networking. Hopefully the model we develop can be exported to other communities. It's all about what happened to Lindsey. At least for me.

Thanks Mike

Its scary.....there has been attempts to abduct girls of about the same age four times this school year in the Roosevelt school area in Olympia.....all four times in the same area within a couple of blocks of each other......one of those times was at the back of looking into a girls bedroom at the house of Lindsey's uncle.....is it the same guy who took Lindsey?....coincidence?? not sure... Its scary though....I wonder if its the norm for a perp to keep trying in the same area.....I find it odd......Lacey, Olympia and Tumwater are so close together why does this perp keep trying in the same spot??

any idea's?

Thanks again for all you do Mike

Maybe local septic tanks should be checked for recent exposing of covers or lack of reporting required inspections....
http://bandbpumping.com/photos/septic_tank.jpg

From http://ftp.techline.com/infocus/mccleary.htm
McCleary operates a publicly-owned electrical utility. This makes for very efficient service and an economical electric rate. The water and sewer departments are up to date, and again very reasonable. Although the utilities are town owned, some of the outlying areas are serviced for electricity by Grays Harbor PUD and have privately-owned water wells and septic tanks.

From http://www.septicsolutionsnw.com/
Currently the State of Washington requires that all private and public septic systems need periodic inspections by a licensed Septic O & M inspector.

Once every three years for conventional gravity systems (systems consisting of a septic tank and drain field ONLY).

• Annually for all other systems unless more frequently as specified by the manufacturer.

• When a property is offered for sale and there is no current ROSS on file by an O&M Specialist.

This septic and portable toilet company at 594 Elma Hicklin Rd.may know more about the local properties with septic systems...

A septic tank would probably throw off scent dogs...would a freezer, recent concrete work for a hottub or patio, or limestone such as John Wayne Gacy used ?....maybe permits taken out in McCleary or by the twelve POI's should be cross referenced.

Bumping for Lindsey. We are thinking of you sweet girl.
