Former hotel manager gets 10 years for child porn (San Antonio Express-News)

A former manager of a downtown hotel was sentenced Thursday to 10 years in federal prison for distributing child pornography.

Phillip Wade Henderson, 52, who worked at the Holiday Inn near Market Square, and his supporters were able to convince U.S. District Judge Orlando Garcia to be lenient because they said he had taken extraordinary steps to address his problem.

For instance, he reached out to two women (who were children when they were recorded in child porn images Henderson had) and settled with each for $4,000, said his lawyer, Van Hilley.

Henderson faced a recommended sentencing range of 210 to 240 months, and Garcia gave him 120 after hearing from two mental health professionals who treated Henderson and the pastor of a church he attended.

The judge also imposed 35 years of federal supervision, and ordered him to register as a sex offender, among other conditions.

Considering that he never actually molested a child, the many years of federal supervision and having to register as a sex offender, I'll say the prison sentence is satisfactory.
