That's what I was wondering. Also, why we'd heard no reports of yea or nay on whether unusually large waves had swamped areas of shore during that time-frame. Weird. A good-sized meteorite - if that's what it was - would have made quite the splash.

LITCHFIELD — An unusual report in the eerie overnight hours rousted firefighters in Bantam and Morris from sleep: A large, green object fell from the sky into Bantam Lake.

It glowed, dispatchers were told.

It was huge — the size of a whale, they heard.

says in the comment section that some other people saw similar bright green objects in completely different areas of the country....Gas City IN, White Plains NY and Detroit although it is hard to tell if they are all talking about the same day since the actual [alleged] event happened on 4/10 and not 4/12.

So what was it? The answer comes from professional meteorologists. According to the National Weather Service, there was a meteor shower that morning.
