 Reporting Dana Kozlov
PLAINFIELD, ILL. (CBS) – It’s a horrible anniversary: Five year ago, Lisa Stebic vanished.
On April 30, 2007, the Plainfield wife and mother disappeared. Her husband said she went for a workout and never returned.
Not a day goes by that Stebic’s family doesn’t think of her and wonder what happened to the young mother. But they still hope they’ll eventually get some answers.

Family seeks closure in Lisa Stebic's disappearance
Monday marks the fifth anniversary of the disappearance of Lisa Stebic of Plainfield.
There will be no public memorials to commemorate the anniversary.
Instead, in what's become a yearly tradition, her niece and nephew will write a note, tie it to a balloon and release it. After five years of not knowing what happened to the mother of two, her family says things have only gotten worse.
"The grief is just as intense as it was five years ago," said her cousin, Melanie Greenberg.
Since her disappearance, it has fallen to Greenberg to represent the family and not let Lisa's memory be erased from the public.
"It's extremely difficult to move on and find closure because Lisa's body is missing," Greenberg said. "We know she's dead, but we cannot put her to rest. We cannot hold a funeral. We cannot mourn her in a proper way."

Craig Stebic remains a “person of interest” in her disappearance, said Plainfield Police Chief John Konopek. Craig has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in connection with Lisa’s disappearance, and has not been charged in connection with the case.
Craig’s lawyer, George Lenard, declined to comment on the situation except to say that Craig and the children seem to be doing fine.
Craig’s sister, Kim Dove, declined to comment about the situation when reached through Facebook.
Plainfield police plan to issue a press release Monday with another plea for information from the public about Lisa’s disappearance.

Just an FYI for everyone following----A little clip from WGN stated this morning:
reporter: "assistant mike Fitzgerald is pursuing a separate high profile missing woman mystery w/ another suspect, lisa stebic. "
glasgow: "mikes also the lead attorney on the stebic case and that's another case we still have on the front burner"
Good to know since I haven't heard about Lisa in a very long time

With Drew Peterson trial over, case of another missing Will County woman on the ‘front burner’
Will County State’s Attorney Jim Glasgow said Friday he’s not only pondering charges in Stacy Peterson’s disappearance but is also putting the Stebic case “on the front burner.” Glasgow said investigators have “significant evidence” in the Stebic case, and that as soon as the Christopher Vaughn trial ends, his top prosecutors will review it all.
“With the evidence that we would have, you can prosecute a murder case without a body,” Glasgow said Friday. “It’s more difficult, but the longer the person is missing with absolutely no contact, the stronger the case becomes that they’re deceased.”

Go Glasgow Go!!!! I'd love to see Glasgow grab the bull by the horns and run with a no body murder trial here in NE Illinois. We'll be watching Detroit bring the father of Bianca Jones father for her murder even though her body has not been found. It's time NE IL get with the judicial game here in the 21st century and start doing some of the things we're seeing done in other parts of the country.
Not just Lisa and Stacy's cases, but also Rachel Mellon's and Robin Renea Abrams.
