SC - Florence County - White male 488UMSC, 40-50, Aug 1994 - "Don" tattoo

This was one of The Doe Network's cases of the day on May 30. No NamUs page, nor anything on the Florence County, South Carolina Sheriff's Office website (http://www.fcso.org) about the decedent.

Unidentified White Male

The victim was discovered on August 25, 1994 in Florence County, South Carolina.
Estimated Date of Death: August 25, 1994

Vital Statistics
Estimated age: 40 - 50 years old
Approximate Height and Weight: 5'8"; 215 lbs.
Distinguishing Characteristics: Brown hair with some graying; hazel eyes. Mustache. He was uncircumcised.
Scars, Tattoos: 5 1/2" mid-line abdominal scar; small scar on nose. Tattoo "Don" with arrow through letters on right upper forearm.
Dentals: Poor, with broken upper teeth.
Clothing: A blue jacket with "Rogers" monogram on the left pocket; Lee brand blue jeans; a blue bathing suit; white athletic socks with red stripes; and white/green leather Adidas tennis shoes.

Case History
On 25 August, 1994, the body of an unidentified white male was discovered next to the railroad tracks near Koppers Road off Highway 301/76 in Florence County, SC. [Note: Previous versions of The Doe Network page, plus Wesley Neville's page linked above, state that the victim had had both legs severed below the knees after being struck by a train.]

Seems like an obvious (if distant) possible based on name (to match the UID's tattoo), appearance, height, and age, but there is no information anywhere to suggest that he has been ruled out. He has no NamUs profile. Eye color is possibly off. Weight change could be explained by 9-year gap. Thoughts?

Distinguishing Characteristics: Caucasian male. Brown hair, brown eyes. Baracosa may have a moustache. His nickname is Donnie.
Clothing/Jewelry Description: A shirt and dark-colored pants.

Details of Disappearance

Baracosa was last seen in a residential area of Solano County, California on March 19, 1985. He has never been heard from again. Few details are available in his case.

With an Hispanic UID, it's probably not good to assume that Don means our contraction for Donald, though it's possible. It probably means "Sir" and the arrow would be Flecha in Spanish, which is a not uncommon surname.
