There is the Albany Pine Bush preserve with the Rensselear Lake and there is a pond ? on the campus. There is a river (see page 1 map) but its a little further away.

I wonder if he was on campus for some reason (jogging maybe) and something happened there. I wish we could get someone to answer some of our questions. The people on FB seem to think he just went off on his own for a while and will return. I'm not so sure. I can't get over the fact they found his abandoned truck and a cell phone on campus. If he intended to return to his previous life he would have kept them. Even if he wanted to start over he would have at least kept the truck. He would have no reason not to.

I mentioned earlier, there is a pond on campus and if it hasn't been checked yet, it should be!
Wish we could get some of our questions answered.

he went to the Albany area to start a new job and by the end of May he was out of money? not exactly how someone would start a new life without cash. I wonder how much money he went through in such a short period of time.

doesn't sound too good to me.

If what webrocket says is true, that means he was hoping to find a job within 2-4 weeks. That is how long his family said he was in the area (right?).

So, let's say he was in a cheap motel ($40/night) and he eats $5/day maybe $45 x 3 weeks x 7 days/week = $945 . I can see someone blowing through a $1000 in a month.

My DH and I were just talking about the statistics for the classes and how middle class people have less money (great pillow talk, huh?). He is professional interested in that type of thing. Anyway, he was saying recent studies show that a lot of middle class 25-45 yo don't have more that a few hundred dollars as a buffer in their bank account.

Where am I going with this? Well, I don't know about Jason's financial status except that he was looking for work. So I will assume that he did not have a lot of money which leads me to: there would be no way he would leave his truck (which could be a source of cash for him) or his phone (costs $ to replace even if it is a cheap one).

But I am wrong a lot on these forums. JMO

Okay, I think this is a new article.

http://www2.turnto10.com/news/2012/j...ng-ar-1071945/

New piece of info: he was there to help start a restaurant.

I feel so bad for his family. Hopefully they get some answers soon.

this sounds so eerily reminiscent of Zachary Green, who vanished in Kingston NY and was eventually found dead in a river a few months later.

here is Zachary's thread:

I totaly agree! I don't see any reason he would leave his truck! Where could he be? It seems like someone would have found him by now if he did something to himself... I wish his family/friends would join us here. It sounds like they are not getting much help from the police... Maybe someone should invite them here via FB. Is that allowed?

I am kind of local to the area (within an hours drive) and I haven't heard much of anything....

Mother of missing man speaks out

This is the third time that Diane O'Brien has traveled from her home on Boston's North Shore to the Capital District in what's become a desperate attempt to find her 34-year-old son, who last spoke with his family on May 5.

This article answers a few questions...

Quote:
Police say Yarnall was spotted at a Comfort Inn in mid-May, using the internet. His wallet was found at Crossgates, his cell phone was being used by someone who said it was found, and his mother is making a desperate plea for help.

“Jason, you know that I love you, please let us know and if you are with someone, they can let us know you are okay, just any word to us so that we can know, a simple phone call will do, just to say hello and ‘Jason's okay,'" said O’Brien.

Her son's car was found in the parking lot of the motel where his mother is staying and Colonie police say his ATM card has been used in Colonie, Albany and Guilderland, but not since May 28.

His mother says Jason has had problems with alcohol abuse in the past and could have been suffering from depression

I'm local...hope this answers some of your questions.
I guess his vehicle wasn't running and that's why it was left. Weird bcuz my car broke down a few months ago and I pulled into this Hotel he was staying at.
I wonder what he was doing for $$ for the last 6 months?

Colonie PD searching for missing MA man

COLONIE -- Police are asking for the public's help in locating a missing Massachusetts man who may be in the Capital Region.
34-year-old Jason Yarnall of Saugus, Massachusetts was reported missing by his family on May 30. His family said that they last spoke with him on May 5, and said he may be depressed and suffering from alcohol and/or substance abuse issues.

Lots of good questions raised in the posts here... sadly, no answers!
Wonder how much LE is doing to solve it, seems there are many things to check into .... some cases get allot of attention, others seem to get very little...

Is it against the rules to email the FB page admin and ask them to join us here? I think the admin is a family member. His father commented on a news article that if anyone had any info to email him on FB.

I'm not an admin, but I cannot see any reason why it would not be okay. I will PM an admin and ask..

So here's what I know so far trying to find out more...

His car was found by family at TownePlace Suites in Albany but Jason hasn't stayed there since early Jan.
apparently his vehicle does not run unsure when the car was left there.
His cell phone was found at the Suny Albany campus which is directly across the street from TownePlace Suites
He also left personal papers in his car (birth certificate) not sure what else.
wallet was found at Crossgates Mall
Hasn't used his Atm card since May 28th but there's no money left in the acct. so that might be why...
He went to the Recovery Sports Bar And Grill a lot to watch sports. Now I kinda want to go there and check it out.

I really don't know what to make of this one...my first thought was he's heart broken just needs some time away...
then I thought the same thing some of you did....Deaths of Male College Students-
http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sho...t=85769&page=7

but now I'm not so sure
there seems to be a history of depression and drinking...I'm thinking this might not be the first time he's disappeared but this time it's different it's been too long since anyone has heard from him.
It doesn't sound good but I still have some hope!
JMO
