IMO, and I hope I'm right, the courts will consider the circumstances surrounding Jaren's murder and TS being a suspect and he'll receive jail time. In that scenario then yes it'll just be a matter of putting him on a plane and him being charged for JL's murder. If TS is just given a slap on the wrist then all bets are off.

Last time he skipped town, he got 2 years (around there) and someone correct me if I am wrong, but looks like his 2010 charge it say 36 months. So I don't think he is getting a slap on the wrist!!! Thank goodness.

It's possible NC could bear some civil legal culpability, given that they've 'lost track' of this offender more than once and bad stuff ensued. if that's even a remote possibility they may sit on TS as a pre emptive systemic corrective action.

I'll ask the legal expert in the household. But since the law's are based on the Napoleonic Code here in La., he may not know.

No kidding. It wasn't the law Governor Jimmie Davis had in mind when he wrote "You Are My Sunshine". I can't imagine we'll ever have the level of transparency in law enjoyed by Florida residents. Good thing, or no? I'm undecided.

I don't know anything about NC law, but it seems pretty clear that they provided inadequate supervision of a RSO, and in so doing endangered public safety in several jurisdictions.
Thousands of civil cases are brought and won on less concrete evidence than the plaintiff(s) would have here.
ETA: this is why I think NC will sit on TS if given the chance, as previously mentioned
