Nancy Grace dropped it once the horrific details came out, but I'd even contact her. BOND? Nancy would throw a fit over that.
Somebody needs to throw a public fit about it (and I'm not a fan of Nancy.)

Is anyone in contact with Renee? Is SHE aware of this? It is so sad to me that nobody is protesting this. He was just a little boy.

I'm not sure what Mona being black has to do with her bail (I know that's what you're implying). PC pressure? Is NAACP or ACLU pressuring the court to give Mona low bail because she's black? Do you think that if Mona was white, she would have higher bond or no bond? Are you suggesting that black people get special treatment when it comes to the justice system?

The race card has been played from the beginning with Mona's arrest. It was immediately because she was black.

At the moment, I cannot think of another child homicide where the sole woman involved was given bail.
I also cannot think of another child homicide case where the bail was that low.
I also cannot think of another killing with a welding torch (or torching in general) where the woman was given bond.

AND this is Texas. We hear so much about how they don't mess around... well...

Harboring vs arson and murder of a child. Totally deserve the same bond.

I absolutely cannot get over this. I can't. Obviously it's not a typo since it's been this long. I had hoped that it was.

I think you mistook me for being racist in that comment, my fault for not explaining it better but I was seeing RED at the time. It would supprising if you came to my home to see who I was and how I live.

maintaining her innocence the entire time when this case broke, and had all kinds of African (Black Entertainment) media attention (and outrage, mind you) help proclaim her "partial" innocence after all the evidence linking her WAS ON HER PROPERTY.

I am not one to convict before a trial, go read my thoughts in the Sierra Lamar thread (some don't like those either).

But the reality is, there was a media f-storm about this, and it wasn't started by Johnathan's mother, or her family, or the neighbors - not the people that lost their 12-year old friend, not matter race, or gender, or religious creed. They stayed mute for the most part, and mourned.

It was Quanell X yapping it up in the defense of Mona being framed, or at least had "help". News story, after news story.

That makes me question -- is he still in the picture? AND who is her attorney?

I don't see how that can be misconstrued into a post about white people get less time, etc. etc. (Which, in some cases I do agree that does happen. That is for another thread, if you would like to start that. I would love to discuss that as well.)

I stated my opinion, and I have my right to it as you do yours. But please, do not imply my thoughts as being out of the norm, or vengeful for this woman based on her race. I would be livid if everyone in this situation was purple.

I really don't think this argument should be in this thread of ALL the threads.
The boy was torched on Christmas EVE, of all the days.
And the "loads of evidence" is located at Mona's apartment.

Clearly here, probably cause of stress and pressure of this "active community", people are trying to be Politically Correct in some situations, ESPECIALLY in an election year - and this is Houston.
Please, of all the things, don't assume I am blind with color, or bias. I just THINK too much -- can't fault me for that.



We all have to learn to coexist with each other. There has to be LESS PC in these situations and taking sides (Us. vs. Them - it's physiological, and can be googled.)
We all have to feel that this PC is what harms neighboring cities and states(think Chicago nowadays), and we have to see each other as HUMANS -- that want right. The media, and the justice system, won't do that. We have to do that. And yes, I STILL FEEL a bond for this woman is uncalled for - she could be white, I would STILL be livid.

This case is personal to me for several reasons: 1. I lived in Houston, so I know. 2. My son is so much like Jonathan I couldn't imagine. and 3. My husband is from South America and even he was perturbed by the bond.

Hope that brings a little more value to the table. Hard to translate feelings, and my knowledge of the media, to the table. But there it is.

There has been no mention of MN in local media at all, and hasn't been for months. Quannell X is still very active in the community, but he has been focused on a local case of police brutality. Think Rodney King - burglary suspect was beaten by police and it was caught on surveillance tape. The first officer who went to trial was acquitted last month. 3 weeks later, the beating victim (a 17-year old AA) was again arrested for burglary and back in jail.(escorted by Mr X) Needless to say, this has been a huge story and Quannell has been all over it. Not to say that he isn't still an advocate for MN, but I don't see him having a lot of time for her case at this present time, what with all the protests and press conference he's been involved with on the other matter. MOO

It doesn't have to be Quannell X is my entire point. He was there at her first trial, spoke her words in the media, and I am sure he might be mum now that she has a bond. To see if she is bonded out, I will watch to see where that money comes from -- if even possible.

I have never fogotten Jonathan Foster. My heart breaks every time I see his pictures, such a beatutiful smile! To know how his life ended was nearly enough to make me stop reading at WS.

I don't care about the race or the socio-economic group of his killer. Anyone who could do such a thing to anyone, let alone a child on Christmas Eve??? .... That person is pure evil, nothing more or less.

The idea bail could even be considered, I just have no words. I will be truly sickened if she receives anything less than the ulimate punishment as provided by law, if she is convicted.

I just don't know how anyone could decide on someone getting bond for torching a child & whatever else she may have done. I just have no sympathy for Mona. Not an ounce. How does she get a bond amount for $250K? It sure puts the heels in the dirt. screeechh!

I don't understand. Honestly. As someone up thread said ... "there's a bond for that now?"
I am right back to being freaked out that this woman did this to this beautiful boy in this manner and at that time of the year. I've always been heart sick at the fear I know Jonathon felt when he realized this woman meant no good!
Really. A human judge read what she did to Jonathon and thought the option for this woman to walk the streets was the best option.? Not even best option. That it was an option at all!!
