What a heartwarming story!! Labs are such wonderful dogs ... I am never surprised at heroic actions by any dogs as they are very intelligent!!
Hugs to Bear for keeping little Stanley face up in the water ... and hugs to 14-mo old Stanley!!

I will never forget the night after my surgery. I was in bed, Grace my newfoundland was in her sleep pen, and I was in agony. I was moaning and groaning, and just not a happy girl. And Grace was driving me batty; she was yipping and jumping and whining and whimpering. She was pushing on the gate with both her paws and her head, and she was doing everything she could to knock the pen over.
So I clambered out of bed, and unlocked her pen.
And as I flopped back in bed, Grace hopped up into the bed with me. Stretched out next to me. Stayed there all night, just laying next to me, nuzzling me when I moaned.
Yes, sometimes dogs have more humanity than man. And I am grateful each and every day for my critters, dogs and cats (and horses). I don't know where I'd be without them.
