Kevin Sweat. It's a name that has become associated with the horrendous murders of two Weleetka girls. But Tuesday, Sweat was in court on another murder, that of his girlfriend Ashley Taylor.
Sweat's attorney filed a motion to continue Tuesday's district court arraignment. Sweat was in handcuffs and a bullet proof vest as he sat in the courtroom.

An Oklahoma man accused in the 2008 shooting deaths of two girls has a new arraignment date on a first-degree murder count stemming from the July death of his girlfriend.

There has been activity on Ashley Taylor's murder case.
Trial for that murder was to be this year, but has been pushed back to June 10, 2013.
Can Ashley be added to the girls' thread since he is the killer of all 3?
I added Ashley to the case archive, and that has been updated with news of all 3 murders.

Defendant pleads not guilty in Weleetka girls'*slayings
OKEMAH - A man charged in the brutal slayings of two young Weleetka girls in 2008 entered a plea of not guilty Thursday in Okfuskee County court.
Kevin Joe Sweat, 27, was arraigned on two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of shooting with intent to kill in the deaths of Skyla Whitaker, 11, and Taylor Paschal-Placker, 13.

Ok, so he confessed to the two girl's murder, but he said he thought they were 'monsters.' 
Now he pleas 'not guilty.' 
Great! He's probably going to declare innocent by reason of insanity. 
Sorry, not buyin' it! 
I honestly have sympathy for people that are truly sick. There was a case here locally where an 18 yo killed his mom and teenage sister and he was really sick. His mom had been trying to get him committed or something because he wasn't taking his meds.
But this case, 
The fact he killed his fiance tells me he's just an evil person and needs to go away forever.  With both cases he TRIED to get away with it, nope, nope, nope.

The judge ruled that evidence from the girls' murders can be used in Ashley's trial (the Glock case).
Defense now wants all 3 murders tried at the same trial. That will make a delay so defense can get up to speed in the Weleetka files.

Wow, I was just wondering today what happened to these two girls and if the murder was ever solved. I remember reading about it a few years ago before the arrest and people were wondering what the heck happened. I guess the theory of a crazed individual with no "real" motive was correct... How senseless that he took these two precious girl's lives. It isn't fair and I pray for justice and some sort of peace for their families...

OKFUSKEE COUNTY, Oklahoma - An Okfuskee County judge has granted a motion by a man charged in the shooting deaths of two young girls near Weleetka and the death of his 23-year-old girlfriend to be tried for both crimes at the same time.
District Judge Lawrence Parish issued the ruling Wednesday in the case 27-year-old Kevin Sweat. Sweat faces three counts of first-degree murder for the July 2011 death of Ashley Taylor and the 2008 shooting deaths of 13-year-old Taylor Placker and 11-year-old Skyla Whitaker.
He has pleaded not guilty.
Parish ordered that the two cases be tried together starting Jan. 27, 2014, in Bristow.
Sweat asked that the cases be combined because Parish previously ruled that prosecutors could use evidence from the deaths of the two girls during Sweat's trial for Taylor's death.
