interviewed Jordan Ghawi, brother of shooting victim Jessica Ghawi (Redfield-professional name-wanted to be a sportscaster) who explained he was doing interviews so the victims would be talked about rather than the killer. Anderson thereafter tweeted about not using the killers name as Jordan had said how upsetting it was that we always know the killers names but not the victims..

His name is Alex Sullivan. Age, 28. Newly married and about to celebrate his first year anniversary on 7-22-12. 7-19-12 was his birthday. He was very excited to go see the Batman premier and wrote on twitter and FB, "This is going to be the BEST birthday EVER!".

I was shown how fragile life was on Saturday. I saw the terror on bystanders’ faces. I saw the victims of a senseless crime. I saw lives change. I was reminded that we don’t know when or where our time on Earth will end. When or where we will breathe our last breath. For one man, it was in the middle of a busy food court on a Saturday evening.

I say all the time that every moment we have to live our life is a blessing. So often I have found myself taking it for granted. Every hug from a family member. Every laugh we share with friends. Even the times of solitude are all blessings. Every second of every day is a gift. After Saturday evening, I know I truly understand how blessed I am for each second I am given.

This is the actual blog entry about the Toronto shooting Jessica escaped. The last two paragraphs are haunting. I just fell in love with her bubbly personality from reading her view of the world. It truly breaks my heart that she's gone from our world, but for some reason I can see her trying to communicate to us that she made it to the other side and she's alright.

Victim names emerge in Colorado rampage

The family of Alex Sullivan issued a statement confirming his death. He died on his 27th birthday.
Twenty-three-year-old Micayla Medek was also among the dead.
Her father's cousin, Anita Busch, says the sad news at least brought peace to the family.
The brother of Jessica Ghawi previously confirmed his sister's death.

I wish we could refrain from using the murderer's name on this thread. It makes me sick to hear or read his name. To me, he is the coward or the murderer.

I hope everyone forgets his name but that the people he killed are made known to the world.

Read his blog posts about his sister, especially the one marked 1015 AM. Totally emotionless. That is not the way someone talks about the murder of thier loved one. That is the way an EMT talks to thier supervisor, or the language a cop uses when filling out a report. He's speaking as a first responder, not a grieving loved one, like he's on autopilot. I know I spoke and wrote like that when discussing my mother while she was dying a slow death from cancer, and I was not a very nice or safe person to be around in the weeks after she died.
That is just my opnion, I certaintly don't have any psychological training, just a feeling I get from him after working EMS for 5 years. I truly hope this poor guy can speak to someone, counselor/clergy or what have you, before he goes back on the job.

An 18-year-old man who was shot in the head, leg, arm and chest told friends he felt as if he’d been “punched in the head” and his “arm … blown off” after he was hit by gunfire in an Aurora, Colo., movie theater Friday morning.
Louis Duran, 18, was released from the hospital and is recovering at home, said his high school friend Jahlil Hall.

The FBI and Homeland Security Department said there was no information indicating more shooting sprees were planned at movie theaters around the country, according to an intelligence bulletin obtained by The Associated Press.

Twelve people were killed and 58 were injured in the attack early Friday at the packed Aurora theater outside Denver. A few of those suffered injuries not by gunfire but in the chaos that ensued as the audience tried to flee the smoke-filled theater in a panicked dash for the doors, authorities said. Among the wounded, 11 were listed in critical condition...
