that makes sense Bay, it needs a good clean. I wonder if they dont expect anyone to rent too soon either. I dont know about brisbane but I suspect the market is bad everywhere in qld at the moment. having said that...$420 for Brookfield is good. and some people dont care or even get a buzz out of a tragedy like this one..renting the house wouldnt bother them and may even be 'cool' to some people

Indeed Indromum you may see me there! I love the free range eggs and the breads!!!
I was really surprised at how steep that hill on Boscombe Rd was opposite the house... and the visibility around the intersection on Brookfield rd was crap (hadn't really paid attention before) no wonder Allison didn't let the kids walk to school - I wouldn't want them around that road. Too many big vehicles and not enough visibility.

No the rental market is hot, it is not bad at all here. Only the crapholes that are overpriced sit longer than a couple of weeks.

Hi Minni. Sorry for the delay. I don't have any special knowledge of what happens in prison - but I have treated prisoners who have been referred for specialist treatment. But it would be pretty much the same as in a public hospital. There would be an attending doctor doing sessions in the clinic, and it may not be the same doctor each time. He (GBC) would have absolutely NO choice of doctor, and his treatment would be mainly at GP level apart from psychiatric services which may involve specialists. For most referrals for specialist treatment, they get referred to the public hospital system where the facilities are. The prisoner is always accompanied by one or more prison officers (as I'm sure KeenToKnow would have done a few, perhaps). This would also take into account the risk factors - there have been several escapes from hospital while under guard.
Someone like KTK would have more up to date information, I'm sure, as to how the prison service health system works. I do know a couple of the doctors (one is a retired surgeon) who do a couple of sessions a week at the prisons. But I've not done any - the area of work I do needs highly specialized facilities which are not available in a prison clinic.

Thankyou Doc..it is good to know he has no control over this either. Keen would probably know, good point. I felt like he had the best of everything when he was waltzing around, not arrested, free as a bird, best legal counsel, top barristers....it was very disheartening. To know he is a common law prisoner, no special treatment is a huge relief....and could even be the source of his supposed breakdown...he is nobody special, much to his dismay......I know the breakdown is only rumour..but I hope he is suffering either way

"It's business as usual" did you really think the public would just forget this? Oh you underestimated us! The long weekend before Allisons funeral you and your selfish clan took off for a holiday and left the Dickies to arrange their daughters funeral. ALLISON WAS YOUR WIFE & the mother of your children. Oh you overestimated your family's intelligence didn't you!

HELLS YEAH WE WILL!!! the lowest of the low...you know I dont care after all is said and done, what he is dealt, because I believe at the end of the day, that he is living with guilt. He might pretend till his ugly mug falls off, that he has no idea where his wife went that night.....no matter...because HE KNOWS..and he is living with that..and I am not religious, but his punishment I hope will be eternal...

I'm sure I can speak for us all in that this has been a merry-go-round of immotions for me. I cry to think Allison was out there alone around that bridge for so long & how she died & someone knew where she was all along........"business as usual"? Her children were crying for mummy, the Dickies wept for their daughter & the unbelievable searchers risking their lives...every day ......while someone knew all along where she was " business as usual" ?? how dare you & your family treat those worthy people like that! ALL FOR ALLISON'S BLOODY INSURANCE......<modsnip> !
Many of us will maintain this rage

What did you read? Sorry I have trawled back through and don't know what you are saying.
Sorry if this has been discussed previously but when a crime such as this has been committed - do the letting agents have to declare
what went on in the house (presuming that Allison was murdered in her home)? MOO

Hi Mani,
I was once told that they did have to disclose if a murder had taken place in a house - but that is not a' fact.'

It isnt true here, I once rented a plce years ago and one bedroom had no carpet in it. Found out after I moved in that a guy hung himself in that bedroom.

There was a family murder in NSW & the purchasers of the home weren't aware of the notorious crime scene & I remember they sued the Estate Agency for not declaring their knowledge, the purchasers won. It was news headlines that the house had sold at auction. An agent is to declare their knowledge regarding factual information regarding the property (in NSW)

This is written by Real Estate Guru Neil Jenman
Meanwhile Queensland's Fair Trading Minister recently said: "If a buyer specifically asks an agent about the previous history of a property, the agent is required to answer that question to the best of their knowledge."
This lame approach to real estate consumer protection is typical in Australian states.
For instance, in Queensland, an agent must take "reasonable steps" to ascertain "the facts material to the sale". But if an agent knows or finds out that a murder or worse has occurred in a house, there is no legal obligation to tell buyers unless they ask.
Legally, agents must encourage sellers to disclose "all relevant facts about the property" to, wait for it, the agent!
That's right. Full disclosure, mate, but not to buyers. Only to your Queensland cowboy agent!
Until Australian laws mandate full seller disclosure, even the most ethical agents must, subject to statutory obligations, reveal only what their seller clients authorise.
Agents who would otherwise dare to tell the whole truth about a home, whether this includes past floods, murders or illegal structures, might wind up with no sale, frightened-away buyers and very annoyed sellers.

Beautifully said but so heartbreaking to realise what those little girls must be going through.

I agree!! After being so VERY quiet for some time on here, the last few days have brought on some great discussions. A lot of food for thought, and it got a lot of our sleuthing minds working again.
