So my, without PROOF suggesting drug dealing as a viable component of LMs possible history just did not strike me as OUT THERE, or me throwing stuff at some wall to see if it sticks – just my O!!

There is proof of the escorting. There were ads he allegedly placed that are probably still on the net...I don't think I'm the only one that saw them. He advertised himself as a twink and used a couple of different names.

It begs the question, is this just a natural, but rare phenomenon?

I believe there are genetic predispositions to mental illness, and then there are also degrees of illness.

There is so much complexity to development. Brain chemistry plays a huge role and we are still just learning the nuances. For example, for years Drs have been prescribing antidepressants to patients with the same diagnosis but getting dramatically different results. Now they (research community) realize that you just can't carpet bomb the brain with certain medications and get the desired result. What calms and comforts 90% of individuals agitates and harms the other 10%. They are working on developing custom meds that target specific areas of the brain in each individual depending upon their specific needs/deficiencies.

IDK... When I was an angry and angst ridden teen I thought about killing A LOT, but I can honestly say I never really entertained the thought. It was always a fleeting fantasy in a moment of extreme rage. Very similar to those times where I tossed around the idea of killing myself. I always snapped out of it like, "WTF is wrong w/you? What are you thinking?" I try to imagine what would have made me continue entertaining those thoughts and ideas. All I can cone up with is rage, anger, and hatred - towards others but more towards myself. I'd have to hate myself to harm someone else.

Cariis, you are way off here. In the absence of proof there is more than enough evidence.

Regarding the information you shared, it is critically important to note that none of the talking head shrinks quoted in the various articles have evaluated or met Magnotta; therefore void of anything resembling proof.

While I saw you posted something allegedly written by Magnotta in a internet forum it is important to consider how many of the posts that have been proven to be written by him have also been proven to be full of false information.

No, you said there was no history of mental illness in his family and no proof that LRM is mentally ill.
 
Okay, it's getting late and SB is getting a bit cranky, but

In the interests of general forum posting etiquette, I would respectfully request and really appreciate if posters could please do a bit more by way of <snips> of relevant information when quoting long posts by others; and take the time to preview their posts a bit to see how they look before hitting the submit button.

One example, post #888 contains a couple of small sentences, a couple of links, yet is filled with large amounts of blank space. Then the full post gets quoted as opposed to a <snip>, and ends up causing a lot of wasted space within the threads with redundant info. The purpose of the little blue arrow beside the quoted poster is there for others to review what the original post said if they wish to do so.

I'm not the forum police here, but I don't believe i'm alone in finding this thread particularly exhausting. Maybe we should have a psyche profile on cranky posters.

Yes Sunday ... so sad that we have so many young peeps admiring LRM when Lin Jun would have been such a better role model for them. I had to step into parenting my own grandchildren who arrived with a lot of emotional baggage. As teens, they had a passing fancy with goth, vampires, and the like, but fortunately have matured into young adults who have developed more humanitarian interests such poverty, homelessness, environment, animal rights, etc.

I would have loved for them to have had a Lin Jun in their lives.

To clarify the question regarding the apartment in Point St. Charles that Magnotta lived from December 2011 until February 2012 which apparently was less than a kilometre from the convenience store where Lin worked as a part-time cashier:
Would the convenience store Lin worked at be the closest convenience store to Magnotta's Point St. Charles apartment; the one Magnotta would be most likely to use?

Not knowing the accused killer's address, I would guess yes. Less than a km would be the closest one to him and the one he used the most.
