Charges have been upgraded to second degree murder.

I saw on the news today that the police had picked up the children the night before because they were found alone at night. The "mom" and gm went to the station to pick them up and explained that it was a misunderstanding. So the police returned them. The next night, they are left alone again and are now dead.

:what: I have no words...except RIP sweet babies you will be protected now the way you should have been.

As a side note - the comments on the 2nd link made me :what: again

Here is a photo of two of them. I just want to cry. So beautiful.

Aren't the police obligated to call CPS when something like that happens??

Oh good lawd on those comments.

Don't judge, don't judge, don't judge!

Okay, if we stop judging people for such horrible and criminal behavior then it will be a free for all for everyone to kill each other. But hey, don't ya be judging cuz she wanted to go a clubbing the night AFTER the police took her children to the police station. Wouldn't that be clue number one that you messed up big time?

And yes, I'm going to judge you! The average person makes judgements 100's of times a day. This is how each and every one of us survive. Once you throw judgement out the window, you might as well call it a day!

One of the comments below the second article says the front and back doors were found padlocked so the kids couldn't get out. :what:
If that is true, that explains the upgraded charges to 2nd degree murder! :moo:

And just how much does a babysitter cost? There were obviously relatives (as the oldest child was with a relative).

In this case, I'd much rather see the children left in a car in front of club than alone in a trailer full of so many dangers with no escape. At least someone may have reported her (again) for leaving her children in a car and they would be alive today.

Yes, there are some women/men out there who should NOT be allowed to care for any child.

Somehow that doesn't surprise me, yet makes me sick to my stomach to think about. Those poor babies had no way out. Padlocked in! This woman has to be dumb as a rock to not think of the possible disasters that could occur because of that.

more likely she just didn't care

why do people have kid after kid after kid after kid if they're not going to be responsible for them? rhetorical question ... I realize none of us has the answer

That's horrible. Is she even grieving?

She's probably grieving the fact that she can't go clubbing anymore.

From August 2014:

http://theadvocate.com/news/police/9913085-123/acadiana-crime-blotter-for-aug

Shaqueta McDade, the mother of four young children who perished in a 2012 blaze after the kids were left home alone, has been sentenced on four counts of negligent homicide...

McDade, 26, of Rayne, waived her right to a jury trial and pleaded no contest.

Fifteenth Judicial District Judge Kristian Earles sentenced McDade to four consecutive five-year sentences, but suspended the final 12 years of the 20-year term. The judge ordered the remaining eight years served without eligibility for parole.
