Former Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff Ricky Edwards said Lavergne "has been looked at" during the investigation of those murders.

Agreed. I can't see BSL finding his way to the Bywater. He'd stick out like a sore thumb. If he did make his way down there, I think he'd be in a big hurry to find his way out. I sure would like to see Jessica's murder solved, though.

BTW, I updated the info on BSL's incarceration in the OP. I'd love to know if he was actually behind bars the entire eight years. I have a long list of missing/murdered in Texas, but the dates don't fit his timeline.

The location is right -- she was found near LSUA which is on the highway from Leesville (Fort Polk) to his home in Church Point. He met her at a bar, killed her and then ran over her body. The date does not fit. Comments?

I think probably we should develop a top fifty list. Put it in five columns based on: Location, age/sex of victim, method of killing and location/disposal of body. If anyone else has a better way or a better method of categorizing probable victims.....now's the time to share! The more the merrier in this particular project. We appreciate all input.

He also has more freedom when family knows the sheriff or the folks that work at the prison closer to where they are. So-so's cousin is the sheriff's niece, mom's brother-in-law is the deputy that governs visitation, yada-yada-yada. It is all who you know and who is family and in Louisiana that is just about everyone. That is why he probably did have a TWIC card and worked as a mechanic for the state and was NOT locked up--I will not believe he was until an official of the prison tells me directly that he was never allowed out of prison--and I would bet the farm that is not the case.

I haven't been able to confirm that he was ever on work release. How about a furlough, though? A few hours on the outside would be plenty of time to work off some anger, kwim? Just speculatin'. Yes, it would be, or should be, part of the record. Unless I've missed something (quite possible), I'm unaware that anyone outside of the correctional system has actually seen his record. Louisiana Department of Corrections has confirmed locations and start/end dates of confinement only.

When he was in control I believe arson and killing someone else so they can take the blame may also be his mo.

There are too many "deaths" that occurred and were followed by fire or suicide for an area the size of Church Point.
AND probably why no one is talking!!! Because they KNOW the last time BSL was "in jail" he was roaming around free.
NOT one of them is going to go on record and state that.
