What could have made someone who wanted to keep a low profile file a defamation (and assault) lawsuit, knowing she would be sleuthed if it made it to court? This legal website explains slander (spoken defamation) versus libel (written/published defamation):

As the site says, "truth is an absolute defense to libel and slander" and if the man she accused of libel and slander could prove that his statements about her were true, the l&s charges couldn't stick. So she had to have known she would be scrutinized by the accused's lawyers.
As FiveFelines said, though, there seems to be no online record of the man she accused aside from the lawsuit records themselves. You'd expect that there would have been a police complaint about the alleged assault mentioned in the lawsuit and there's seemingly no online record of that, either.
