Armchair psych profile and personal background

There is a lawyer named Lex Canada? That sounds like the worst fake name ever; Magnotta probably thought that Lex Canada sounded like a *advertiser censored* name...

No.....from what I can gather, Lex Canada is a group of lawyers in Toronto. Luc Leclair is one of their lawyers.

:moo:

I do NOT think Leclair is with Lex ... his addy is 120 Carlton St, Toronto, and Lex is at 33 Yonge St.

Correct, Leclair has his own practice.

So I'm still baffled what could be so important about some questionnaire that they felt the need to search warrant to get it (I know the confidentiality thing for the process of getting it... but to have to go the trouble? ) and how is it relevant to the case before the court?

Thanks for correcting me about Luc Leclair NOT being with Lex Canada! So now......question:

Since Luc Leclair is not with Lex Canada, why/how/or IS he involved with Lex Canada's saying a warrant is needed to get the info?

I'm confused (nothing new there......).

:chillout: :juggle: :chillout:

While it is NOT confirmed that Magnotta participated in the study referenced in many of the news articles which is titled "Challenges: Ottawa Area Sex Workers Speak Out" which was published December 2, 2010; here is a link to the study (note the study is a pdf file) just click on the first publication listed and the download will begin: http://www.powerottawa.ca/powerdocs.html

Since Leclair is LM's head attorney, from what I gather, he is fighting to prevent the information being disclosed, publicized and used in the case. Whereas the LEX Canada office and the original authors are fighting it on confidentiality grounds in general.

IMO, the names were changed and from reading the quotes, sounds to me like he is Michael.

Very interesting, I don't recall that article being posted before.

Its reopens the debate about adults who are living on their own, without supervision, and self administering their medication. How many other "ticking time bombs" do each of us walk by each day in the streets, in the elevator, at our workplaces who could snap at any moment? Troubling thoughts.

Forgive me if this has already been posted but I believe what is in this article gives a true picture into his character.

What I find interesting is the glimpse we get of his mother from this judge. Also this very well may be the reason no psych evaluation was requested as his seems to have been in the past under doctor care and was suppose to be taking medication.

I am starting to think he was extremely delusional and believed in his mind he was in love with Karla or he admired her. I just recently read that the movie American Psycho was apparently Karla's favorite movie.

Thanks for sharing that Mbshafeena; I hadn't read that article before and found it quite interesting.

It's an odd thought but given Magnotta's impressive management abilities (of his online personalities), creativity (in his online efforts), salesmanship skills (moderately successful in convincing both online and real world audiences of his fabricated life of fame, wealth and education) and his attention to detail; I wonder if he had successfully nurtured and managed his known issues throughout his life that he could have achieved extraordinary success in business, politics and/or life.

I think Michael is too smart and sane to be Luka. You can't cut and paste during an interview.
I think "Paul" sounds more like him
"We can also recall Paul’s (escort) struggle to overcome the self-alienation he experienced as a result of his
internalized whorephobia having been taught that “[*advertiser censored*] are demonic, ****ed -up things, the most filthy
thing” which he says “kept me in a state of depression. Just now am I starting to think that what I do is not
so bad, that I am just providing a service.”
He also talks about being judged is always on his mind and he keeps on having to be on top of the seperate parts in his life....

New!

He was a wayward Scarborough kid from a broken home, starved for attention and relentless in his pursuit of celebrity, however morbid.

Since Luka Rocco Magnotta was arrested in a Berlin Internet café last June for allegedly killing and dismembering Chinese exchange student Jun Lin, a psychological profile rife with contradictions has emerged.

Magnotta was a shut-in with visions of wealth and exotic travel, a shy introvert who unsuccessfully promoted himself as a “devastatingly good-looking” male model.

As Magnotta awaits trial in a Montreal court next year, an upcoming CBC documentary has built a revelatory character study of the 30-year-old, digging deep into the alleged killer’s vigorously maintained online presence to reveal a man so desperate for public notice he may have been driven to kill.

“It’s fascinating to get an insight on what’s going on in his mind,” said veteran CBC journalist Mark Kelley, who hosts the documentary “Hunting Magnotta,” which airs Friday on the network’s investigative news show the fifth estate

How Magnotta was hunted by online sleuths

WARNING: This story contains disturbing content
One member of the Animal Beta Project who goes by the online alias Baudi Moovan saw a post about it in her Facebook feed and was spurred to help try to find the killer. She joined a 4,000-strong Facebook group called "Find the Kitten Vacuumer … For Great Justice."

"I saw somebody with a complete lack of empathy," Moovan told the fifth estate's Mark Kelley about the person in the video. "And I saw somebody who wanted attention immediately."

Cat-and-mouse game

Moovan and the other Animal Beta Project members — who conceal their real names and locations because they are still in pursuit of online animal abusers — came to the conclusion that the kitten killer was Magnotta
