Singer Snoop Dogg was briefly detained and forced to undergo a urine test after police stopped his car following a concert in Uppsala, Sweden.

Snoop Dogg claims it is a clear case of racial profiling and his only offense was 'driving while black'. Uppsala police spokesman Daniel Nilsson said, 'We don't work like that.'

Police insist the car was stopped at the side of the road already and Snoop appeared to be under the influence of narcotics. Test results will take about two weeks.

Snoop is saying the police stopped him because they're racists and didn't find anything but the police is saying he was stopped in a routine vehicle control (many other vehicles were also stopped) and the results aren't in yet. I guess he's thinking that they didn't find anything because they let him go, but the Swedish police wouldn't keep people under arrest waiting for test results if it's just minor drug offenses they're suspected for.

They're also reporting that drugs were found in the hotel after Snoop Dogg and his entourage left but it's not possible to link any particular person to them.
 
I think Snoop was arrested on suspicion of being Snoop after a Snoop show.

I think it's possible that being black could have led to this stop, given the current conditions. Sweden has been rocked by explosions (with hand grenades) in immigrant areas recently. Four in a week in Malmo, latest one today.

Police are on high alert, have asked for help and there is a video of a police officer restraining a non-white, young child at the link that I found disturbing.
