Watch may help identify skeleton
HE appears to be tall, was probably wearing a black sweater vest and dark trousers, suffered fractures to his legs and ribs and had an ageing silver watch which stopped on a Saturday the 14th.
But the identity of remains found at the base of a Hawkesbury River cliff - and how long he has been there - remain a mystery to investigators.
What also remains unclear is how he came to die, apparently without anyone noticing, nor whether he jumped, fell or was thrown from atop the cliff.
"There is nothing to suggest foul play but we cannot rule it out yet," Kuring-gai crime manager Detective Inspector Ian Mitchell said yesterday.
