Dallas woman hopes new leads can help her find daughter almost four years later

When Angela Jaramillo asked if she could spend the night at a friend’s house after a party on Jan. 23, 2010, her mother didn’t think twice about saying yes.

That was the last time Stephanie Reyes heard from her daughter. But as she counts down to her daughter’s 20th birthday on Oct. 24, Reyes has renewed hope that she’ll find Jaramillo,

In the last month, several people have told Reyes that they’ve seen someone who looks like Jaramillo in west Oak Cliff’s Arcadia Park area, which is not far from where Jaramillo lived when she disappeared.

“She’s an adult. She doesn’t have to go anywhere she doesn’t want to go,” said Dallas Lt. Barbara Hobbs of the Crimes Against Persons Division Special Investigations Unit. “Even if she doesn’t want to contact her family, we can update them, give them some peace of mind that the sightings they’ve been seeing are her.”

“Her little brothers ask me all the time, ‘Can we go look for Angela?’” Reyes said. Jaramillo has two brothers, 6 and 8 years old, and a 14-year-old sister who Reyes said is “really depressed” about the situation.
