GUILTY UT - Alexis Rasmussen, 16, North Ogden, 10 Sept 2011

Ugh...Some bad news...

The search for missing Alexis Rasmussen has turned into a criminal investigation.

And a search of the couple's home where she was babysitting:

The search seemed to center on the kitchen area of the home, the concrete steps outside and the trunk of a Saturn automobile parked on the street outside, neighbors said. The Saturn was towed away with a police escort early Monday morning.

So, it looks like the couple she was babysitting for was arrested on separate charges unrelated to Alexis.

Also, the wife was with her during the trip to Walgreens...

I'm getting sick to my stomach... :(

When I read that she disappeared after babysitting for a family friend, it reminded me of the Elizabeth Ennen case. :( Praying for this family.

Oh sad! The babysitter has always bothered me.

First big descrepancy.

The couple were going on a date that night, though at 10:30 p.m., Rasmussen accompanied Dea Millerberg to a Walgreens in Layton. Miera did not know what the two were picking up from the store.
As it got close to midnight, Miera told her daughter over the phone to stay the night because the Millerbergs still weren’t home. But when Miera arrived the next morning, Rasmussen wasn’t there.

Wow. This isn't good news at all.

Still holding out hope that Alexis is safe.

It sounds like the N. Ogden PD is holding a presser this afternoon..not sure of the time yet.

Dawn Miera is Alexis Rasmussen's mom. She said that North Ogden Police had told her that the FBI was now getting involved in this investigation It's still unclear exactly where this investigation is headed. North Ogden Police have not returned our calls.

Miera said she has learned of a couple possible sightings in the Roy and Layton area. She's hoping that could be her. Better to think that than she's not coming back, she said. She also said she learned Dea Millerberg took Alexis to a Walgreens in Layton the night she disappeared to pick up prescriptions.

Here is a new article with an interview of Alexis' mom:

I'm glad the FBI is involved. Still praying for the best, but it certainly isn't looking very hopeful.

Sorry, Kaylynn. I didn't see your post. :)

According to Alexis' FB page, the presser will be at 4:00pm MDT on KUTV. My math is pretty bad, but that's about 2 hours from now.

Hopefully, they'll put it up on their website. Unfortunately, I won't be able to watch. Still praying for the best.

4pm is exactly 2 hours from now. Mountain time is 2 hours behind eastern time, and 1 hour ahead of pacific.

I think KSL will be streaming live, but I will call & double check.

Does anyone know if the press conference happened? I don't see anything on the news sites or on the FB page...

LE downplaying a criminal investigation. Mom says she may have met up with friends and something happened.

My guess is that mom is really hoping that she just met up with friends, because she knows that if she didn't leave the home she babysat in, the outcome is almost certainly worse.

The mom also makes it clear that when she went to pick up Alexis in the morning, the two people she babysat for could not put together a coherent answer or thought. It may just be a hangover, but even with a hangover, they should be able to just say she left our house and we have no idea where she went. Instead,

When Miera went to the Millerberg house, she said she did not get any straight answers.

"He's talking a mile a minute, talking about all these random things. He's all over the place," she said. "She didn't know what time (Alexis) left. They weren't even coherent. Their stories didn't even make sense to me."

{{Sigh}} I just do not see a positive outcome with this one.

Wow, in addition to poor Alexis, the poor children of this couple that she was sitting for. Drugs are a horrible thing. I am hoping that she wasn't pulled into it too.

I just got a text from KSL saying 'Police find body in connection with missing N. Ogden teen, Alexis Rasmussen. Will not confirm identy.

Hate to hear this.

"A grave site has been discovered in the investigation of the missing Ogden teen Alexis Rasmussen. Stay tuned to ksl.com, KSL-TV and KSL Newsradio 102.7 FM/1160 AM for more information as it becomes available."
