Kind of OT with this question. Has anyone else tried to get up from the position Travis was in in the shower. I tried it last night and had to roll over on all fours first. Just wondering if anyone else could get up faster or more easily from that position and confined space. IMO that in itself would have allowed her time to leave.

For some reason I can't keep thinking about gravity versus position he was in. Have you ever tried the old trick where you sit with your arms crossed and feet flat on the floor and tried to get up? Same idea. Seems there was one like that that you could keep someone from getting up with two fingers touching their forehead. Okay now that I've gotten that notion off my chest I feel better.

I expect her to say "one time at Band Camp" when she's on the stand. I don't know how the jurors can stand to listen to her. I'd rather listen to RS than her and that is saying something. :)

Pasa, yes, I was thinking the same thing and found myself saying "this one time at band camp" out loud. Too funny! :floorlaugh:

I was thinking about this the other day. I hope the jury realizes this. Jodi had so many opportunities in her version to get away. With Travis in the position he was in, as soon as she saw him getting up with that mean look in his eyes that she talks about, all she had to do was run down the hall, out the door down the stairs and out the door. I hope the jury also realizes that the stairs leads directly out the front door. I mean it's a straight shot. There was nothing stopping her from going this way. Running down the hall, in the closet, and back into the bathroom makes no sense, especially because he's having trouble catching her. Martinez said it best, she is the one that escalated the situation. There was no reason to believe he was trying to kill her. He was just chasing her and she was the one that reached for the gun and shot him.

In the end, the story is stupid. I hope the jury throws it out and just looks at the evidence at hand. I am really hoping.

On the Attorney Thread I read that the lesser charge is Burglary & Aggravated Assault. I was wondering what besides the rope and bedding did the Ripper steal. I keep asking on twitter if Travis' wallet was devoid of cash. Just what the heck did she steal besides his life?

Theft doesn't necessarily have to have occurred for burg charge, but I'm sure the *advertiser censored* took something. I recall hearing that the funds she had on hand for "road trip" didn't come close to covering her expenses....?

well this explains JA's claimed suicidal thoughts and DV and where she got her ideas from. Read the comments following the article.

The comments were informative. MOO. She's a piece of work. I refer to her as "D" because I don't want her to come here by googling her name. KWIM? :)

She watches in the courtroom and tattles on anybody and everybody. I try to stay away from her and if I'm close enough to her I don't talk, at all.

Well, if her story is to be believed, she stole his gun.

Apparently, there was no money in his wallet and he was known to always have cash but I'm not sure if this is true. (I've not seen this in evidence.)

moo

I figured that was why JM brought up the fact that JA had made 2 CASH deposits at Chase (he showed the receipts) while she was on her "road trip". I think that's also why he kept asking her how much cash she took with her (no more than $200), because I believe that close to $1,000 was deposited in cash to her 2 bank accounts.

So where else did the cash come from on the road except from Travis?

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh: Yes. I am tired of the folksy anecdotes. Would it be too much to ask if she use some of the mega$$$$ she was paid for doing nothing to purchase a professional-looking dress or blouse? :twocents:

I wish she'd look more professional, but what I wish for more is that she acted like a professional. On the other hand her lack of professionalism is good for the state. :)

Nurmi seems to have a pretty thick hide. He defends sex offenders which is his specialty. I think Nurmi is in the habit of detaching from his clients so that it's just a job for him. JM is another matter. I believe Nurmi may not like JM personally but he does sometimes get a look on his face when he watches JM that appears he admires the way JM crosses his witnesses. Does not last long but for a brief second or two you can see it.

Defense knows that JM is going to do but they have given it their best shot. Sad to think they only recourse they could possible have is that the judge declare a mistrial and they can regroup, repair their mistakes. They grab at straws in a feeble attempt to save their case. jmo

Yup, I've seen it too but still I just don't get people like Nurmi & Wilmott. Other defense attorney's talk about how they're just doing their job & it's a thankless, noble profession...blah blah blah.. But Nurmi makes his living interrogating and attempting to discredit little children who've been raped by pedophiles. His website solicits those accused of sex crimes. What are the odds the majority of potential clients are falsely accused? There's just no way I could do it. What Nurmi & JW are doing to TA's reputation all in an effort to save her life is unforgivable.

Hi everyone,

I signed up a while back to get on here but it has been so hectic and honestly I needed to learn the ''ropes" of everything. I just wanted to say, thanks for the support after yesterday. I'm fine just disappointed how low one can go.....We must remain focused on justice for Travis and his beautiful family.....Bless their hearts for all they have endured...

Have a wonderful weekend, Happy EasTer to all...

Katie (DDJ) :seeya:

Wow we got Katie!! Wooooohoooooooo! Welcome!! :)

I am not sure. I think Travis was getting stronger and wiser to what JA was all about, and he did finally get the sex ties she would have had nothing left. That could have been enough for JA to flip. However, if things had worked out with Ryan, Travis may have had a lucky escape. I've no doubt though one day there would still be threads on here of "The State vs Jodi Arias"

BBM: Wow... probably true! Smart thought you have there ;)

I work as a secy for a Associate warden at Pelican bay State Prison...if you have heard of that place, it houses the worst of the worst of people on this planet to be honest...you are so right about what prisoners do...and don't do, they all are innocent, no guilty ones in the prison, don't you know..lol..but there are alot of attorneys out there willing to take the cases of these "innocent" perpetrators to court...they are willing to sue anybody or anyone for anything...and do...I am sure Donovan is feeding JA, but personally I think Jodie is so full of herself, she really does not get that she is not going to walk like CA did...don't think reality has hit her. I want to see her in death row even if it is for years...no tv, no visitors, no cellmates to feed her need of an audience...she will shrivel if she does not have a fan club. Nurmi, strikes me as one of those attorneys following the "money" and believe me some of these prisoners have alot of money, at least in our prison..

Hi Friz ... you are the PERFECT person for me to ask this question. I would be very interested in knowing the details of what is like to be a prisoner with LWOP vs. DP prisoner. I guess I just wanna know just how bad it can be for her. I want her to get the DP, but I wonder if it might be a "picnic" for her to get LWOP. Whatcha got for me? Thanks :jail:

I think ALV could have done a good job-ish as a mitigation specialist. Instead they've now got the chummy one who seems to be wanting to be JA's best friend. I can't wait to see what she comes up with! Too bad so sad come sentencing day.

Agreed!!! Stupid story. I hear a lot of people say how smart Jodi is.... I don't get it. Street smart, I'll give her that. But mostly she tries to use big words, eyeglasses, etc. to LOOK smart. Oh and her snarkyness with JM made her look stupid too. She didn't even try to win him over.

Her stories aren't all that good. If they were, we wouldn't be seeing this trail of premeditated stuff that she did. And the way it sounds from our beloved court observers, the jury is on to her. It really warms my heart that they will not make any eye contact with that wicked crazy thing - that's sooooo telling. :moo:

He seems to be team Jodi, that's for sure. He also seems to harboring some jealousy for Martinez. It's bizarre to me.

My thought is he is anti-DP, wants the spotlight, wants get the exclusive DT interview after the verdict or all of the above.

BBM - Might be why she is getting 'migraines.' She is wearing glasses and she doesn't need them.
