Here's another article:

>>Neighbors say they mostly saw the victim walking her dog around the neighborhood. They're not sure whether Thompson lived alone, but they say a man frequently visited her home.<<

Who was the last person to see her alive???

Good question AND hello Dear PassionFlower.

We know she was alive to speak on the phone with her dad at 11AM Tuesday.
We know she didn't respond to her phone Tuesday evening (when her dad called)
We know that she missed some type of appt. on Wednesday with a friend.

Wonder if she told her dad where she was when they spoke on Tuesday AM, and what her plans were for that day.

>>As customary, Wolf called Heather Thompson that evening as he was driving home from a night class that he's taking to become a math teacher. Wolf got no answer and tried several more times Wednesday.<<

Evidently it was customary for her dad to communicate with her in the evening. Having her not answer...ummm...well that might have been a window of Tuesday 11AM to the time of that evening call.

Looks like Douglas County's "front desk" is different than ours in Jackson County--two counties south. My husband spent some time looking as he uses our county's tax record database all the time but he couldn't figure out this one.

Here's the link if someone else wants to try:

Speaking of the dog, the first article stated that she treated her dog "like a son". The dog was found unattended.

From KGW.com

>>The sheriff's office said it has determined the cause of death, but won't release the findings of the autopsy.<<

Sure wish we could find an FB or twitter page for her

Just thinking of things that have come across my path. Roseburg is on the I-5 corridor. I spend a lot of time on the Craigslist Adult Services section throughout Oregon and Northern California looking for my daughter.

I checked the Roseburg Craigslist Adult Services right now and it's empty. That's not typical. There are almost always some ads on there. The entire I-5 corridor is packed with prostitutes and adult "providers". We just had a bust in Ashland which snagged two prostitutes and 12 johns. The house was very close to the highway entrance.

I am not at all saying that this is what Heather was involved with. However, the article does say she missed an "appointment with a friend". In my experience those words can be a euphemism for a "date". Obviously, there are a large number of legitimate massage providers along the highway, also. Has anyone seen any info about a license in that field?

what the heck is going on in Roseburg

geez louise ...

I keep thinking she might had been meeting someone for a reading (psychic reading )?

That certainly could be. However, I've noticed that some providers mention tantric readings and then give the cost per 15 minute increments. That makes me think (but I'm the first to admit that I'm jaded) that more than a reading is involved. A true tarot reading can be had anywhere in Southern Oregon (at spas and even clubs) for about $15-25.

I really don't want to disparage Heather. Bless her heart, she was very pretty and seemed to have many people who loved her. She was good to her puppy and that goes a long way in my book. Her parents must be aching. I'm just trying to figure out who murdered her and considering every possibility.

As to what's going on in Roseburg? My guess is that it's the same problems seen everywhere in the US. Also, keep in mind that Roseburg was hit hard and heavy by the end of the timber industry. There's the environmental side of that story but one can't ignore the human cost either. I have to say that I'm very surprised that the rug-cleaning business was not doing well as that's one service which has seen a huge serge due to foreclosures. Possibly something drew Heather to Oregon, though. Concerning wanting to buy a house in Albany, that strikes me as odd, unless she has contacts there. Albany is extremely effected by the economy right now. Their huge paper plant and the RV industry went belly up.

Hiya Miss...

Thanks for that info. That is her high school, listed both her maiden and married name and shows on her MySpace page.

A BIG THANKS to LadyL for finding the MySpace page. How the HECK did you do that?

These might help. Not sure.

FWIW, this whole area is known as the State of Jefferson, an actual planned new state which locals have still not given up on!!

Note that Roseburg is right on the northern border and thus Pagans or New Age practitioners would most likely relate to this "state". It's not just a geographic place, it's a state of mind.

If Heather was reading Tarot and spiritual in anyway, she would most likely have had contact with these groups, shops, and festivals.

Heather's ex:

"To all who knew Heather: She is gone, she was taken from this life and moved onto the next. I thought you all should know. We will miss you."

Another MS for Heather:

http://www.myspace.com/asharp57

This is connected to her carpet cleaning business which seems to be shut down. You'll see that there's photos of her trailer with phone number, etc. The website is closed. It seems that most of her friends either went to school with her in Palmdale, CA or are from the Las Vegas area.

A listing for her company in Henderson, NV (no reviews):

I wonder if Heather attended any of these events? They certainly offer Tarot readings and had events all throughout July. I hope LE checks out any contacts she might have made here:

http://www.mysticearth.net/events.htm

They also offer a private rental space:

"In the back portion of Mystic Earth is a very cozy little space that we have set aside for a variety of community related events such as classes, readings, and massage/energy healing work. We call it “The Sacred Space” and it is available to whomever would like to schedule a time."

Hiya Missizzy,

Thanks for posting all of the good information. My guess is that LE is going to find it relatively easy to figure out who took Heather's life, but if they do not, some of the things you posted could sure help them to gather information and leads.

I noticed that "custom spells" was something Heather mentioned, I also noticed custom spells on this page:

>>Mystic Earth Custom Spell Crafting and Personalized Magickal Oil blends.<<

Since Heather was mentioned as probably having a spiritual interest in Oregon, it is likely she was plugged in with certain people there before hand (mention of relative's ex-husband there) and maybe others who had her same interest. I can't imagine she would just pick up and move there without some particular reason.

As per looking for homes for sale in Albany, in this article:

>>But she planned to move farther north and planned to look at homes for sale in Albany, Wolf said. “When she got there (to Green), she realized there wasn't work,” Wolf said.<<

I can't imagine that someone who was unemployed (I'm assuming she was, since there "wasn't work") would be looking for homes for sale without

a) having a savings -- perhaps from a divorce split of funds and savings OR
b) having someone who could help her to buy the home (cash) -- parental help or otherwise OR
c) someone who had a job and regular income partnering with her.

In order to get a loan, there are certain things that must be in place, an income, the funds, etc.

Of course she could have just been saying, "Think I will look at homes for sale, maybe you and mom can move here." On the other hand, it did say she was planning on moving further north, as if she was the one intending to move to Albany, which wouldn't rule out the latter thought pattern.

I hope they bust the perp in short order.

I wonder if Heather went by Heather Thompson or Heather Wolf OR some other "special name" there?

Just thinking as I look at this page:

Is that photo of Heather with her dog (at HS or 2004?) I wonder when that was taken? Either way, I wonder if she was inclined to have "big dogs?" -- shepherd type dogs.

Her dog was found at the house?

>>Family said they were alarmed that her dog was found unattended at the home.

Heather Thompson treats the dog “like a son,” Wolf said. “The dog was still in the house, and I've never seen her leave the dog.” <<

How did whoever hurt Heather get past her dog? Hmmm... That poor dog :(
