I'm not sure that police investigators always have access to the latest techniques in computer/internet forensics. (Maybe if they could hire some Anons from /b/ they'd have better results.)
 
If I can add one more person to the list of missing: in 2006, a girl by the name of Carla Viscentini went missing from a bar/lounge in Newark NJ. She was last seen talking to a man who was alone at the bar. Her friend reported she then left with the man saying she was going to see a photograph that he had in his car. She was never seen again. I am reminded of this because Carla and Melissa could be twins. In fact, when I first saw Melissa's picture I thought it was Carla. I will work on posting the official missing persons report or a link

I believe he is able to be caught but if his phone and computer can be traced, shouldn't he have been caught by now? They caught the other Craigslist Killer in something like 4 days if I'm not mistaken and he actually communicated with the victim online.

I don't believe LE has a clue as to who the sk is at this time.

Thanks, NYGuy, and welcome. The number of girls who have disappeared who are vulnerable in some way (alcohol, drugs, or prostitution) is staggering.
 
That may be true. But once a Child is involved everything gets turned up a few notches.
 
FYI the bird sanctuary where they found the skull has alot of trails back there and where people hangout. Right next to that is Tobay Beach where there is a restaurant called Singletons Seaford Shack. The Tobay Beach parking lot on the westside has access to these trails where cars drive through back there. No one is allowed back there but people go back there anyway.

Hi, Sistah Sleuth; they did apprehend the Craigslist Killer quickly, but he left a video and record trail that would have lit up the sky. And he left a witness.

I think that tracing a disposable phone might tell you where it might have been purchased, but not much else. If someone can be more specific about this, I don't mind be contradicted or amended.

I think that serial killer cases are by their very nature very complicated and Suffolk County is not a hick law enforcement agency. And they're running the investigation without the floods of leaks that have endangered other cases.

Maybe they don't. I was under the impression that tracing ip addresses is a simple and easy thing to do.
 
One thing that was said was the fact that he called from around MSG Penn Station, Homeland Security can pull those Camera shots which should be saved, in Midtown Manhattan you can't go anywhere without being on CCTV.

Maybe because it is still an evolving case and they are still dotting the i's.


I also think there is a commonality between the victims in LI and AC we have not been told about.

We have learned 2 of the victims were asphyxiated. A Dr on NG just pointed out that is not strangulation, and that for asphyxiation there would have to be some soft tissue to make that finding. This Dr suggested like placing a bag over the head of the victim.

I wonder if it could be something like a bag that ties LI to AC? Were the AC killings particularly brutal or did they show signs of torture?
 
It's interesting about the "disposable" Phone I did a Google search on finding a Cell phone without a contract, it's not easy to find without leaving a trace.

By the way, these latest gruesome events should cause Craigslist to shut down. They should have been shut down years ago.

Hi, Righteous1, that's true, but you also can't go anywhere in midtown Manhattan without being part of huge flowing crowds.

Hi, Sistah Sleuth, I agree. I find Craigslist chilling. I don't think that it makes safer for the girls; it makes it safer for the johns. These women are people's daughters and sisters.
 
Iam sitting in front of my television right now watching NG as iam sure ost of you are as well . Did that guy really just say there may not even be no seriel killer but a lot of coincidences come on nancy cut that guy's mic lol.. I have to say i am from On Canada and for myself its been the bernardo crimes seriel killer if he fits that catagory but other then him i have Never really had a seriel killer case that i was this heavilly covered all over the media the BTK AND ZODIAK are the ones that come to mind but all were started before my time so this is the first real big seriel killer case iam seeing upfront and kinda captured all my attention its pretty crazy i cant imagine living in L island . I would really like to comment too on something they just stated and that is the cause of death being strangulation because of a tie maybe being around the next . I dont agree at all have been for the reason alot of girls wear dress suits now adays i know they may have been escorts but not 24/7 they may of had a day job or came dressed like that because being a escort is looked at as being a class up from a prostitute there for the reason they come dressed in a dress kinda suit with a tie to make the client know hey this isn't your averege girl on the street its discreet and more professional ..just a thought..

That's also true. It's not the one time you get caught on tape it's the second or that and a link to one of the girls it just takes a small break to make a Suspect into the right guy.
 
My sister called in the tip. The truck my sister saw on Bay Parkway is right by the fishing piers. hmmmm, I did not know that. My daughters BF said there are 4 fishing piers there. Its called Field 10. Theses fishing piers are opposite Zacks Bay/Jones Beach Theater off Wantagh Parkway.

I couldn't disagree more. Maybe it's because I live in the area and know how desolate the area is and how most people from Long Island have never even been there. JB said some things that don't add up at all to SG's sister the week after her disappearance. He told them on the podcast that she didn't look like her picture and he told her to leave...three hours later she was still at the house culminating on her screaming someone is trying to kill her.

I think he will be arrested. If I'm wrong, I'll buy you a beer...

Had he been standing in Penn station alone when they traced the phone call then he would have been arrested or at least brought in for questioning. But he was literally among hundreds of people and so he was not and could not be pinpointed.

Jessica Paolini went missing from Cherry Hill, New Jersey after her mother dropped her off at a hospital. Jessica was from the Pennsauken area and had been known to go to Camden.

When the four women were found in AC Jessica's mom called police to see if one was her DD.
