Toronto police have charged a man in connection with a midtown sexual assault investigation.

Police allege that a man followed the victim into a men’s washroom located in a building at Yonge Street and St. Clair Avenue on June 7.

The man attempted to touch the victim after engaging him in conversation, police said.

A suspect, identified by police as 58-year-old Joao (John) Picacno, is charged with sexual assault"

Not that I think anything like this happened in the missing TO gay men case, but it did allegedly happen in New York recently.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/5-hasidic-men-indicted-in-alleged-attack-on-brooklyn-man/

""The group, which had grown to approximately 15 members, surrounded Patterson, preventing him from continuing his walk home. When Patterson tried to get away from the group, he was held down, and savagely punched and kicked by a number of the males surrounding him, including these defendants."

According to the prosecutor's statement, court documents show that the assault, which left Patterson blind in one eye, stopped after bystanders threatened to take pictures of the beating. The defendants allegedly fled the scene and were not present when emergency personnel arrived.

CBS New York reports that the men shouted anti-gay slurs during the attack"

"Two of the three men likely lived closeted lives
More details are emerging about three missing men who vanished from the Church-Wellesley Village.

Toronto Police Service investigators say the three missing-persons cases are connected through "similar ethnicities." Detective Deb Harris, who is leading the investigation, says the three men were not all openly gay. "They frequented the Church and Wellesley area and lived similar lifestyles."

Skandaraj "Skanda" Navaratnam, 40, went missing on Sept 16, 2010, after leaving Zipperz with an unknown man. What makes his disappearance particularly troubling for police is that Navaratnam left a new puppy unattended, which is unusual, says Constable Tony Vella.

Abdulbasir "Basir" Faizi, 44, went missing on Dec 29, 2010. His vehicle was found abandoned in the Village, which is also where he was last seen. According to police, his bank records show he last used his debit card at the Hero Burger on Church Street.

Majeed "Hamid" Kayhan was last seen on Oct 14, 2012, and was reported missing to police on Oct 25 by his son, police say.

Harris says the three missing men have probably never met, but she can't say for sure. "There is nothing that links the three men to each other."

It could be as simple a connection as this....
bbm, imo.

"The three men all look alike
A Toronto Police Service investigation is looking into the disappearances of three men from the Church-Wellesley Village area.

Officers from 51 Division canvassed residents and businesses on Church Street June 6, CTV News reports.

The three men all have a similar appearance and went missing between 2010 and 2012, according to a police news release."

"Short in stature and softly spoken, Pakistani paramedic Muhammed Ejaz was probably destined for a life of relative anonymity –- until he began killing gay men he met online.

The 28-year-old father-of-two was arrested last week and confessed to three brutal murders, saying he wanted to send out a message about the "evils" of homosexuality, though police insist he had sex with his victims first.

The killings have sent shockwaves through the underground gay community of the eastern city of Lahore, which fears Ejaz could be lionised as a hero in a conservative Islamic society where homosexuality is stigmatised and sodomy is punishable by up to 10 years in jail.

In an interview with AFP from his prison cell Sunday night, Ejaz, who sported a neat trimmed beard and was kept shackled, expressed remorse over the killings but said he was acting to stop wrongdoing.

"My way was wrong. It is tragic that the families have lost their relatives but they were spreading evil in society and I had to stop it," said Ejaz, who is due to appear in court on Monday".

"Police intend to launch a cold case review of unsolved murders as soon as they catch Magnotta, who is now the focus of an international manhunt and has been evading Canadian authorities for eight nights.

The former gay *advertiser censored* actor is wanted for first-degree murder, defiling a corpse and using the mail system for delivering 'obscene, indecent, immoral or scurrilous' material.

A Montreal police source said: 'The number one priority for us is catching Magnotta.

'But you can bet as soon as we've done that we'll be going through cold cases, unsolved murders, to see if there are any links to him at all.'

Just to keep in mind.. New York, not too long ago, or faraway...

"Morales — who’s charged with murder as a hate crime for allegedly shouting “Look at these f––ts” before shooting dead Mark Carson, 32, in Greenwich Village — has had two court appointed attorneys since his May 2013 arrest."

Bumping... Where have these men gone ?

It just occurred to me, that it may not be just a matter of similar complexion with all three men, but that they all have facial hair..
It might be important to know what type /look of person each man might be most inclined to associate with, or be attracted to?
Wondering if the missing men all took taxis home ?........ imo.
