Yep, He Got It Back
Bob Russell may be the most patient, most persistent man ever.
His prized 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 was stolen 42 years ago, from in front of his Philadelphia apartment, after a date with the woman who would eventually become his wife....

Amazing!
I had a car that I adored. I really loved that thing. But the engine died and I had just had a baby and I was only 20 and I couldn't afford to fix it. I cried when I lost it, and 8 years later I occasionally dream that I've been reunited with it :P
So thinking about the feeling this guy must have had sitting in that thing again for the first time (after 42 years) gave me chills.

It was a 1992 Toyota 4runner. Not very impressive sounding, I know. It had a lift kit and large tires and was very unique. But I bought it with some of my dad's life insurance money. That car kept me busy when I was miserable, and I was thrilled every time I got behind the wheel. Sometimes I'd drive for hours (back when gas was cheap) just to get away :P And I always felt awesome doing it. It was more than just a car, it was more like one of my best friends. I've vowed to own one again, although it will probably be a much newer model. I just don't have the money yet.

My favorite car was a 1977 VW Rabbit and so impressive doesn't really need to be a qualifying factor. It's what memories and meaning that car may have had for you. That 4Runner was full of meaning for you, so I can see how it would be such an easy car to adore.
